Hey wanna know a fun fact? It has taken longer for Rockstar to release a second trailer for GTA VI than it took them to develop, market and release GTA Vice City after GTA III!

The gaming industry has changed A LOT since then. My guess, shareholders were getting upset with the delay so R* was scrambling with Take Two to release SOMETHING to please them.

I said this before, when R* releases new information on GTA VI, people will have a brief sense of euphoria back into excitement/anticipation before going back to skepticism.

Rockstar should fix their shitty in game economy. I'm not even talking about the micro transactions in GTO but the insane rate you get money in single player. It's hard for me to believe our protagonists need to be gangbangers when they're floating millions in cash in the 1st few hours. Plus it makes 90% of the side stuff irrelevant because there's basically no meaningful reward from them.

There's a similar problem with how violent they make the protagonist, only to have to said protagonist refuse to use violence in situations where they absolutely would. Like in GTA5 when Michal doesn't just shoot up the people he "owes" money to at the start of the game.

I guarantee you that Rockstar doesn't understand those problems and it will not be addressed.

I just watched the new trailer and what a borefest. The game is like a generic action movie, that is taken from a straight to video movie you find in the bargain bin at the one dollar store.

GTA 6 has the biggest hype of any game we've seen in our lifetimes, definitely top 5 at least. They can do whatever the fuck they want and the fanbase will still worship the ground the devs walk on and gunt guard it with all their might from any criticism. Rockstar knows this, and they've seen how lucrative GTAO was for them, the singleplayer is just a tech demo for the online portion of the game and I bet that will include testing the waters with an online store for the single player portion too. Skins, unique weapons, car deliveries, they can get away with pretty much anything since the modern gamer is used to the online stores being the norm in games.

We've seen gameplay from the leaks, and it's not really impressive. It's pretty much just GTA5.5 but with a new skin. They will have to really lean into Vice City nostalgia or by trying to sell this game to porn addicts(hence all the ass shots in the trailer) since the gameplay itself isn't worth the 10+ year wait.

I don't know about that. Cyberjunk 2077 definitely showed a change in the tides.
But you're right in that probably mainstream livestreamer faggots will eat it up like slop no matter how many shining nuggets are contained within the shit they drop out of their asses.

There is no fuckin way the PS5 can run something that looks even remotely close to the graphics in that trailer. Just more bullshots for an inevitably mediocre movie game. They spent too much time and money on this monstrosity of a project. No way it isn't a mismanaged disaster. Imagine what a shit show it is to work at Rockstar. We saw how Assassin's Creed Shadow turned out. Get ready for a 5 hour long credits sequence at the end.

You're absolutely right. That said, I would definitely want to play it Day 1 because I've been waiting ten years for this, granted astroturfed, moment. No other company would be able to get away with it because R* accumulated a LOT OF consumer goodwill with GTA. It would also make or break the gaming industry because of the GDP-like development costs.

Well, maybe the PC version will, but no the beta test console versions.

Everyone on twitter on soyjacking but honestly I remain unimpressed. To me it looks like if you install one of those realism overhaul mods for Cyberpunk you can get like 85% of what this game has to offer for a lot cheaper.

i was thinking about some point break-bonnie and clyde mixmatch but this aint. it only needed the student deals storyline to be fucking saints row reboot.

It's also proof that the gaming industry is running out of ideas. Compare the technical leaps from GTA 1 to GTA 3, then GTA 3 to GTA SA, then GTA 3/SA to GTA IV, and finally GTA IV to GTA V. The real test, from a technological perspective, would be if it could handle all those assets in a open-world with 4K and 60 fps minimum with minimum loading.

No idea why they're bringing back Phil, unless that guy is Phil's son, but I don't remember him having a wife in GTA:VC, or if he even survived to the end of the game. I could see them doing something lazy like that for the memberberries unless that's just straight up Phil with some sort of cyborg or cloned arm.
