There is something to be said for the colors they used, mostly white and red, and how they're actually used in the environment and to guide the player. Maratroon just looks like someone ate a crayon box and had a diarrhea, spilling random colors everywhere out of their ass with no rhyme or reason. Unless we're talking about yellow paint guiding literal retards, which the modern AAA gamer is, colors guiding the player without any overblown tutorials or UI elements pointing the way for the player is a lost art. Also, despite these two colors being used for most of the game, how they're used was also done well and doesn't really get grating(then again, Mirror's Edge is on the shorter side). Meanwhile, calling maratranny an incomplete game with placeholder textures/models is a rather common complaint I am hearing about, nobody is even sure if this is how the devs intended the game to look or not lmfaoI am still working on my Marathon art style post, but I wanted to say something briefly about Mirror's Edge artstyle since it is one of my favorite games of all time.
