Most of the people Ian went after had more fans than him tbf, the only exception being Tana (and we already know that was partially Anisa's idea). He refused to go after the Paul brothers just like how he refused to go after Onision and Boogie (both easier targets than every other youtuber he did attack) because they were too obvious and easy and were already getting a lot of hate. If his content cop on the Fine Brothers is anything to go by, he seemed to dislike going after obvious targets that everyone else was already hating on.

The sociopathic thing is also honestly a bit of a reach, he was pretty normal at one point and his whole "learned empathy" bs is just something he made up to reinvent himself and that he probably got from therapists. The way he behaves now is less a result of some personality disorder and more just a consequence of the circles he's been hanging around with for years. I agree entirely, and there's more to be said. Ian was never funny. Humor will always be subjective, but I cannot fucking fathom why he got such a huge fanbase. I was a big Filthy Frank fan when he was popular, and Ethan and Ian were always the worst part of his videos. And the videos Ian made on his own have always been shockingly unfunny to me. Seriously consider the highlights of his comedic career for a second. "I'm gay!". "I have osteoporosis!". "Keemstar is a gnome!". It was always the absolute worst type of tryhard wacky humor to me.
