Overall, it's a pretty funny video, but there's still no legal defense for assaulting people unprovoked like this. I can't say I'm shocked the guy who did it was charged with assault.

I have a feeling that the worst of the illegal and fucked up shit that happens at furry conventions happens in the less documented smaller cons. Furvana is a smaller furry convention that openly markets to 16-year-olds. In the same state that rainfurrest happened. Any convention that encourages 16-year-olds to attend a convention catering to adults and sexy parties is always a red flag for me. Not sure if Furvana has been investigated yet. The number of kids that show up in photos when looking up Furvana is alarming.

I think bad shit happens at all conventions, regardless of size...
Word of mouth has it Fur-eh used to have full-on zoo meets with unfixed male dogs being brought into personal rooms. I know the one time i went (many moons ago) there were pet friendly signs everywhere suggesting the runners know what's up.
I worry a lot about CalFurry since it has a few zoo supporters on staff, but I'll talk about that more when i can get all my info together. Be a shame if the hotels in the area knew what might happen though.

The only time i went i remember the "sweet nanny dog pitbull" the shelter they were sponsering was going fucking nuts every time it saw a dog fursuit. That and a lot of people with pets, never understoof why any furry con allows that.
