Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

modern dad difficulty mode.
Modern dads remember getting our shit pushed in by Duriel the first time around because our necro build sucked and want the game to actually have a little challenge. It's the zoomie zoom zooms who want to GRIND DAT BATTLE PASS without anything like a game getting in the way.

I know I'm probably gonna get a ton of hate from this one, but i think "anti-woke" or "No DEI" type mods are cringe as fuck. To clarify, I'm also not a fan of unnecessary inclusions of bullshit and poorly written forced black, gay, woman, etc. characters. But when I see mod lists or lists of which games to avoid because of wokeness i roll my eyes just as hard as when I see forced inclusion. For example, when I see the Baldurs gate 3 no DEI mod I can't help but think people who feel like they need it to enjoy the game are just as big crybaby as the people who say there isn't enough diversity. It totally confounds me as to why people care so much they have to make less black people in BG3 for example. "It's more accurate to the setting it takes inspiration from." Who cares it's fantasy they got red and green bitches everywhere."I'm tired of it being shoved down my throat" fair point, maybe they did turn the horny meter to high but again, you don't have to fuck them. "I can't avoid it, some gay relationships are part of the main story" So? Sounds like you might wanna suck dick and you don't like that. And the biggest point is just don't play the game if you think it's to gay for you. Not every game is made for everybody, it is what it is.

I know I'm probably coming off as a screeching lib or an average Twitter user but I just think it's ridiculous. I think that there is a middle ground where gamers at least don't feel like DEI is getting shoved down their throat and black and gay people are in a game. Like I said I feel like I'm gonna get a ton of disagreement and arguments but I don't really care.

you mean the dads that are still playing diablo 2 remastered because they can't play diablo 2 since blizzard disabled battle.net?
stop being old by blaming zoomies, nigger, because the battlepass can be bought and have levels bought which means dads/wagies are the main focus, not zoomie zoomers because they barely have any money since slaving away for goldstein or kikeberg doesn't pay much and they can't into investment especially with stocks taking a nosedive worldwide.

no, you will just be called a retard for ignoring the thread where people that share the exact same opinion as yours got called retards too.
if you mean the culture war bullshit then it's pretty much a uncontested opinion, these constantly-crying-wolf annoying faggots are cringe and will be cringe but they will never do what is actually a good thing for everyone, which is shutting the fuck up.
Again, those are alternatives in a world where linux is an alternative to Windows, which is clown world.
why would anyone bother with linux which is a shit OS or Windows which is the common denominator OS?
real chads use TempleOS, macfags don't count as people.

Insisting that a work of fiction isn't complete unless negroes and homosexuals are prominently featured in it is shoving DEI down people's throats.

Oh yeah i was buying so many stocks when I was 22, i was basically Gordon Gecko, that's how I was able to afford Timesplitters 2.

SA really soured the whole series for me with the extra shit they tacked on, but I never got far in 4 or 5 before getting bored. 5 really pissed me off with 15 radio stations, 14 of them playing rap, 1 playing country.
GTA V definitely had a shitty radio lineup.

I really loved SA though because of all the stuff you could do. The basic RPG stuff was great for me. And if V had the gang territory attack/defense minigame thing in it, I would probably keep it installed just to play and replay that part.

GTA IV... I know I played it. Couldn't tell you anything about it though.

come on nigger, your dad wasn't into stocks it seems.

GTA4 was a console-peasant moviegame, i like that they did GTA5 with a shitty-esque stat system for online but it hardly reflects on the characters which is kind of pointless and it's why SA gets called the better game, i guess they will try it reflecting more on the character with GTA6 but i wouldn't hold my breath, GTA-SA stat system was disliked by some people because of the repetition reminders, losing health and muscle because you forgot to eat made people hate it and some still do, same for gun related skills locking you in place until you hit hitman level but it makes sense for the time as the game locks you from strafing until you are comforable with shooting the gun and the autoaim thing ps2 had unless you used a rocket launcher, but even then you could rush to get the advanced rocket launcher which has target-seeking after a lock on period.

At least in the SP game, the ability stats improves each use.

Sounds that people are stupid enough to don't overeat a little before playing.

That can be fixed doing ammunation's shoot challenges.

online you get increased health every few brackets to a point it caps at level 200, whereas in SP you get some extra bonuses similar to GTA-SA minus it being reflected like how buff cj vs fat cj or how you can car hop+nitrous at maximum driving skill or how cj handles guns per skill bracket vs you having pinpoint aim at skill level 0 or 100 but it only speeding up your reload speed a bit.
the rest of your post separates us, most of the people playing GTA-SA in my region were kids and didn't understood english so most of the tips the game gave you fell on deaf ears, we all started with GTA3 though ;)

planet coaster is a poor successor to roller coaster tycoon. the core gameplay loop of roller coaster tycoon is building coasters. there are other mechanics but the ideal RCT game is to build a few cheap coasters that print money so you can spend the rest of the game building and optionally theming cool coasters while tackling scenarios that challenge you to do this in different ways.

planet coaster has all of these elements, but adds a few additional things that really really hinder the thing that made rct fun; vendor staff and track refunds. i dont know who thought it would be a good idea to include the vendor mechanics but they are the most annoying thing in the game by far. I love management games but planet coaster, like project zomboid of all things, uses the idea of "simulating real life" to add anti-fun mechanics. so like rct you need to have amenities and the most cost effective amenities require vendor npcs to staff them. these are by far the most entitled asshole employees in the history of videogames. they will quit if they arent busy enough, they will quit if they are too busy, they will quit if you arent paying for them to get training, and they will quit if you arent giving them raises commensurate to their training. so while you are trying to build a coaster you will either have to stop every ten minutes to make sure all your employee babies are happy and dump 2 or three grand into training all of them and fiddle with a bunch of menus to give them raises, or wait for them to quit and do all of that later while getting bombarded with notifications.

I know i mentioned that these staff would be annoying you while building a coaster but that is really an academic problem because you aren't actually supposed to build the coasters in campaign anyway. if you delete a track part while building you wont get a full refund, and some of the parts in this game cost thousands of dollars. most station pieces in this game cost half a grand or more and if you want to trial and error your way into having a station exactly long enough to hold two trains you can quickly bankrupt yourself. so you can either savescum your build, which is tedious, or open up sandbox, build your coaster there, and hope it fits in the area you want to put it on your campaign game.

less than 5% of all planet coaster players have made it even halfway through the campaign. this probably explains why the campaign is almost non existent in the sequel. the game is more played as a very specific cad program than a videogame. not to knock that i have seen people make some awesome stuff.

It's bloated and they don't give a crap about optimizing their games anymore. They expect players to enable DLSS/FSR/XeSS and enjoy the blurry game.
Isn't that what PC players aspire to have? High quality graphics running at 60 FPS?

1080p at 60 fps in 2025 should be the minimum, on PC and console.
On PC, we should have the best experience possible. If a game on PC requires fake frames and AI upscale to run at a little bit more than 30 fps then why even have a PC?

The typical WRPG tends to have more emphasis on building an interesting, plausible world, while the JRPG tends to focus on the stories of the party members, with the world being barely more than a Story Hallway for the characters to run down as they talk about their feelings. Your average town in a JRPG is an item shop, an armor shop, a weapon shop, and a few places to trigger cutscenes for your party to talk to each other, and you visit it exactly once as you run down the Story Hallway. Often, the town itself is laid out like a hallway. There's little attempt at all to give it a meaningful sense of place. As computers have gotten more powerful, JRPGs have put more resources into elaborately rendering their main characters, particularly during cutscenes, while WRPGs have gone for bigger and more dynamic open worlds. Skyrim may not have any characters with stories as detailed as Tidus, but FFX doesn't have anywhere as interesting to visit as Whiterun.
I agree overall. I'd say in theory FFX has a better world than Skyrim, but you don't actually get to explore much of it, and not in depth, it's basically lore shit, which is typically less satisfying than experiencing it yourself.

The king of video games would be a marriage of these two juggernauts.

Name checks out.

I'm playing The Final Shape right now and I'm actually really impressed with the story. Might be a low bar since Destiny campaigns aren't exactly shakesphere. Trouble is if you know anything about Destiny it's that the gameplay sections go from good to boring and grindy really quickly. I usually mock the idea of skippable boss fights but I truly do believe that there are rare occasions in games where you get really into the story and the gameplay just feels like it's getting in the way.

Sure wish this shit was a book instead

The video intros/music before you even clicked the game. I remember listening to the God of War music as soon as I hovered over the game, that was even true of demos on the early PSN. PS3 had that too, no?
I didn't have a PS3 so no idea but yes. I remember Crisis Core, Syphon Filter (both games, especially Logan's Shadow), all three PSP GTAs, Resistance Retribution and a few others. I can't find a youtube video showing which games had it and which ones didn't. Game libraries nowadays don't even have this feature and it makes it even more lifeless.
