On a charitable take I'll agree, the temptation to just go "Fuck em" and not think it through any further is always there and the reminder to give it thought is not a bad one. But most of the time it's not thoughtful or effort filled things people are saying
"Fuck off retard" to, but blatant bait or one liners or something that is just surface level retarded with no further detail.
Disagreement has to have weight and a degree of sincerity to it to be measured and valued.
When it's a drive by fart that dissipates as soon as the elevator door opens it has no inherit form or intent to evaluate it besides that it smelled like shit.
And the person who delivered it's intent was just to cause a stink before running off giggling down the hallway.
Maybe if in this hypothetical, someone can be narrative terminated that easily, then they're using an incredibly predictable script or repeating something posted word for word a dozen times 3 pages back or rehashing something to waste people's goddamn time that's been already explained away or provided information to the contrary with. Because people have engaged with others who are actually putting the work in or at least making it funny. I can easily find similar low effort contrarian posts on the botted comments of any MSM article or on reddit with 10K+ updoots, that caliber of keystrokes is not even a thought to engage with, there's nothing TO terminate.
In order to terminate a thought or narrative it has to have legs or the means to go anywhere besides sitting right there like a lump with nothing to grasp onto or elaborate on.
