As in 2024 and 2022 the GOP has no message at all. None. They're just as disunited as the Democrats, just without hooting niggers and shrill cat ladies causing daily embarrassment. The caucus has not, as a whole, embraced MAGA, and too many of them still are bucking against its core ideas. A major issue is maybe half the party is in the throes of a version of libertarian ideology that says anything businesses want to do, including importing infinity jeets and forcing their employees to take untested "vaccines", is good, and the government has no business getting in the way. On top of that, you have cargo-cult Reaganism saying that all social issues are insta-losers, so they're unable to do anything but the most half-hearted actions against trans insanity, even "trans kids." Recall that the TX-GOP completely shut out citizen activists trying to bring the issue to their attention, and Kristi Noem cucked to the NCAA early on the trans issue.
The problem is, Republican Party ideals are inherently for free-trade and pro-American Imperialism. Two things that Trump tried to check. So no matter how vociferous his supporters become, there will always be some old-guard Republicans like Karl Rove who will pop out of the woodwork to challenge him.
Same thing is behind why the GOP has never undone any left-wing initiatives to politicize the Armed Forces and turn it into a social experiment. Feminism is a social issue, and social issues are losers, so let's just allow women, fags, trannies, and fat niglets destroy our combat readiness.
That, and the army thirsts for bodies to throw at the enemy. There's not enough white boys signing up to be cannon fodder, so let's let the feminists, trannies, and fat boys sign up to become bullet sponges for Uncle Sam.
Considering that Trump is cutting benefits for veterans, and many fired government bureaucrats that he let go were veterans, I can't see fighting men signing up for the army at any rate. Sure, Hegseth can make it as masculine as he likes, but it still won't offset the fact that men want a reward, not just a boys' clubhouse with guns to hang around in.
At the end of the day, far too many Republican politicians still think the only issues that are safe to run on are cutting taxes and increasing defense spending. The Democrats, by contrast, are uniting once again around the message of stopping Hitler from putting innocent brown people in concentration camps. It's a retarded message, but it's a message at least.
Oh, The Rs are going to absolutely be routed in 2026. I'd love to be wrong but I fully expect we'll lose the House, and more than a third of the Senate will be up for grabs then too. The Dems will circle the wagons, as they always, always do, while the Rs bicker amongst themselves and thereby persuade the voters to "vote their consciences" with predictable results.
That, and the Left has always been united. Attack the feminists, and the Marxists come after you. Attack the trannies, and the feminists come after you. Whereas the Right is divided between gooners and puritans, between secular and religious, between pro-Trumpers and anti-Trumpers.
Part of why the Republicans loyal to Trump are so feverishly loyal to him is because he's the only major Republican who won in the post-Obama world. They're not loyal to him out of values, they're loyal to him because he's the only winning ticket they have. If he kicks the bucket or retires, they won't be able to challenge the Left, and they'd get screwed.
unless the GoPe get their shit together all the progress Trump has made will be undone the very second the new Democrat PotUS steps in to office.
The problem is, all of Trump's "progress" has been done through presidential fiat. He's essentially turned the presidency into an Emperor figure. So the next Democrat PotUS will become an Emperor as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if they restored all the government organs Trump shut down via executive order, or if they started deporting right-wingers and removing their citizenship.
As soon as Trump won, the very moment it was certain, 95% of GOPers flopped down on their couches and put their feet up, prepared for four years of complacency and doing jack shit. "Why not? We won!" Same as last time. And they'll be just as shocked and horrified when they get trounced in the midterms, AGAIN.
They're just as arrogant as the Democrats were during Obama's second term. Except this time, the anger is more palpable, and the world would unite in the cause of kicking Trump in the balls. Both American liberals and most of Europe, Australia, and Canada would celebrate the Democrats as heroes if they could impeach Trump or render him a lame-duck president, like they did to Dubya during the latter years of his presidency.
I'm not sure if this is a hot take to say on this site, but you CAN have a piece of media be woke and still be good.
Mass Effect is certainly a contender. All the "good" choices are liberal, tolerant choices, while the "Renegade" options are supporting human nationalism and showing distrust towards alien species.
