So the Pakis just launched a bunch of drone and missiles along india's Western border. so says Reuters.
I want to just stop memeing for a moment and bring up something I think needs more attention: India and Pakistan are not part of the Nuclear nonproliferation treaty. This UN treaty from the 1960s basically says that nations which already have nuclear weapons will not assist other nations in the development of new nuclear weapons. While india has "no first use policy" regarding it's nukes, Pakistan does not. Pakistan will fire first if it believes it it has to pursued another country (India) that invading it is a bad idea. No country has this. The Russian federation for example will use it's nukes when it believes its sovereignty is being threated or if another country nukes them first. However for Pakistan if they feel they are threatened in any manner or have to prove they aren't to be fucked with, they will just do an air/ground burst- mushroom cloud and all. I know earlier I made a joking post about how "I'm siding with India" but in all seriousness, Pakistan (when compared to India) has a tiny military, has never won a war against India and for the first time both nations have some stockpiles of nuclear weapons. Furthermore the leader of both nations must prove to their domestic audience that they are strong and only they can provide security. As such, baring third party intervention there exists no "off ramp". Normally this would be the job of United States and it's state department, however because the Trump administration along with Elon have been taking a sledge hammer to everything (as opposed to a scalpel) the us state department as an institution is far weaker than it once was even during the first Trump administration. What doesn't help is that the Pentagon is also facing similar cuts which means that the us military liaison for india or Pakistan isn't what it once was. Most US strategic assets aren't with Indopaccom but centcom and are being used up attacking the huthies. Not to sound alarmist (even though I already am) but unless an off ramp is found soon this conflict will continue to escalate and I have little trust in either nation (with even less trust in Pakistan) to ensure that the nuclear option isn't seriously contended with. Because sooner or later India's much larger military will have to be mobilized and Pakistan does not have the traditional conventional means to counter such a numerically larger army. The only good thing if this does go nuclear are that realistically only India and Pakistan will be nuked and the larger international community will break both nations with sanctions, blockades and boycotts.
Furthermore Pakistan is directly responsible for the growth of nuclear weapon programs across various shitty countries such as North Korea. Back in the 1990s I believe there was a Pakistani nuclear scientist who would sell nuclear technical documents and material just for cash to anyone who could afford it. Such actions would be unheard of in any nuclear power even China. ( by the way Israel got it's nukes from the French and South Africans and "totally officially doesn't have nukes but maybe it does").
Sorry for the long effort post, but I had to bring up just how dangerously stupid of a situation we are in.
If you dont want to read basically to summarize my fears they would be SARRR DON.NOT REDEEM NUCLEAR WEAPONS SAAAARRR
