Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

The fuck is the Iron Talon?
The Iron Talon is a mobile ground structure you fight in the campaign.

I enjoyed the DLC, but to be fair my enjoyment comes from a weird angle. This DLC has mobile structures, small craft, space combat - though janky - and shows the interior of a blackwater shipyard. As someone who fucks around with all these, this makes me happy that they're not forgotten.

It's mostly because the FWL never had a staff writer who was a fan, so always the short end of the stick.
"Let's do something with the FWL besides a shitty Vietnam allegory and background for Wolf's Dragoons" they said. The first time the FWL is the focus is when they get worn like an Edgar suit by the Wobbies and then destroyed as a faction for a while because of that. Poor FWL. I guess they matter a little more in ilClan, but even then the focus is on the Capellans for some godforsaken reason.

I love how the Ghost Bear DLC one-upped the base game's introduction of aeros, dropships and warships by adding battle armor, small craft and mobile structures. It's like Pirahna said "They gave us the entire unit roster, we're going to USE the entire unit roster!"
What's the next DLC gonna give us? Superheavy Mechs? Airships? Boats? [A battle on the flight deck of a Luftenburg Supercarrier would be pretty badass, ngl]

Space China Numba One. Because that's obviously who needed more of the loving embrace of Fiat, the Cappies.

Tough Choices.webp
Fucking Cappies man, I swear.

Catalyst now owns Iron Wind Metals.

Does this means the completely retarded force pack/single models situation is solved? In an alternate timeline where CGL wasn't a bunch of retarded buffoons the idea of unfucking the rights situation and decent international hubs would have been great.

Imagine being capable of buying what you want without having to deal with insane custom pricing. A man can dream.

I would assume so? But the announcement doesn't really explain what, if anything, will be changing exactly. I just hope the good people working at IWM get to keep doing shit their way, I loved making a weekend trip of driving to Cinci and blowing a couple hundred bucks on pewter figures priced by weight straight from the warehouse and chatting with the workers. Since it sounds like Mike Noe wanted to sell the shop anyway, this may end up being the best outcome versus some random investment company that doesn't give any fucks about BT scooping them up. Time will tell, but if CGL fucks the people over who have been working there I'll only be 3D printing going forward.

I do my part to right the wrongs of canon by not painting any space china mechs and having a company of 2nd Free Worlds Guards on my paint list. Yes, it'll include an Awesome.
It's a nice paint scheme and all those PPCs had to go somewhere. Still funny the faction that has PPC shortages also loves multiple PPC heavies and assaults. I lean Orient, white and green is always nice too. Can't let the Cappies have all the nice things.

Today, after being a Battletech fan for 30 years, I learn that IWM is localish to me.

Every Friday or Saturday they do a bulk sell of all their pewters by the weight. Might be one of the last times you can snag one, so maybe a pilgrimage is in order. Snag some for my Texas ass too!

Their listed hours overlap with my work hours and thanks to how my family clusters birthdays, it's the wrong time of year for this shit, I would never financially recover from this. Temping though

If you have the chance and like pewter minis (I personally hate the plastic ones) I'd pay them a visit before they potentially get restructured by CGL, who knows if in-store shopping will remain given how insane of a discount they provide.
Edit: saw somebody already suggested this to you oops. Send a friend I guess haha

IDK, seems like its easy to run out of PPC's when you've got so many of them in the field getting blown up. At least for the Davions autocannons are so heavy they're not going to lose more than one or two if a 'Mech gets totaled.

That's fair. I mean, we "fixed" the Banshee by doing an AC to PPC swap, that probably caused rage and heat attacks in the Fed Suns. The AC/5 Mafia was not amused. It's how you know the Hairbrained Schemes team was Fed Suns fans, they made the AC/5 better.

Lmao didn't the Banshee get actually fixed by dropping the stupidly heavy engine? The 3E is an absolute beast of an assault, and one I tend to throw into my Acadiana Chasseurs whenever I get 'em.

The -S series. It's a solid assault, good mix of weapons, like a reverse Atlas with ranged direct fire weapons and close in missiles. The -M should be mixed in with 4/6 heavies or used as a bodyguard for your fire lance of Archers. Make sure to stop by a wood hex to pick up a club. Think of it as an overweight heavy mech and you're golden, it's job is to contribute PPC fire and make other mechs regret getting into melee. Works for the League, since your heavies lean towards mechs with guns in their arms, and League variants are, ironically, all about being team players.

Post 3067, every mech in a League unit should have TAG and/or semi-guided LRMs. FASA gave us the tools to be great at indirect fire and we should be making that everyone else's problem.

This game man. I liked seeing Battletech taken to a turn-based setup because I like the Mechwarrior games and Battletech lore but never played the tabletop game, and I like turn-based tactics games.
The missed opportunity with the game is depressing. Fans have 2 decades of their own art and ideas about the style and character of battletech universe, and this faggot decided to make an utterly forgettable handful of androgynous ugly character portraits that have zero reference value to anything the fans envisioned. Fans of the battletech universe will rightfully shit on this game forever.

I've neen replaying Battletech (now with all of dlcs) and i noticed that i cant find some of the mechsthat are losted in the wiki. Raven in particular. Is it only in free game and not present in campaign due to timeline or does it show up later?
I had to ally with capellan even
Also have been watching letsplays of mech commander 2. Man what a great game is it abbandonware now? I couldnt find it on any stores.
