I've always thought that list was a little stupid because it mainly just uses "Not Recommended" on anything that could be seen as having woke shit in it no matter how mild - a ratings system like on this board is much better since it lets you more accurately gauge how bad the content is (for example Terraria on there isn't recommended but only because of removing gender selection from the character creator, which would usually just be considered mild)
sorry, they only deal in absolutes because of their high levels of woketard fatigue.
if you have low fatigue then this thread is best for you, high fatigue it's good to look at the RPGHQ.
Couple of random bits I found about a few games; probably not enough here to really be worth updating the list over, but I thought I might as well. Bear in mind, some of this infor's been out for a while, just wanted to bring it up here for anyone that might be curious:
Guild Wars 2:
- The expansion after End of Dragons - Secrets of the Obscure - has confirmed that Bangar Ruinbringer is still alive, and a massive chunk of the Frost Legion is still active as well. Apparently, the "good" Charr kept Banger locked up for years without any form of trial, since "they knew he was already guilty" and they wanted to wait for the "right time" to judge him for whatever reason; the Frost Legion itself seems to be shaping up to be a potential future antagonist, but we'll have to wait and see; I haven't been keeping up much with the game since EoD, so don't quote me on that.
- Aside from that, SotO apparently cuts back on a lot of the wokeshit that plagued the rest of the game; characters aren't as blatantly in-your-face about it, and the authors seem to be trying to focus more on getting out of the narrative corner that they wrote themselves in following EoD's rather idiotic ending.
- The Charr are finally having their vote to determine the new "Khan-Ur", the supreme commander of the Charr Legions; the game tries to portray it as a mystery, but it's blatantly obvious that it's likely going to be that "stronge independent wamen" Charr from Icebrood.
Small Saga:
- Smaller detail missed in the original review: there's a book you can find where a philosopher gives the classic "weak men create strong times, strong men create weak times" quote replaced with rodents. A second "philosopher" chimes in and says that it's wrong, because modern medicine and food are healthier and make thus make stronger rodents, and that the quote itself is "kinda fash". A third "philosopher" then proceeds to write "get his ass" to the first, because the first guy is apparently pure evil or some shit.
There's also been some updates to For Honor; I'll try and give them a look at and see if there's anything substantial - I know there's this new all-female group of Mongolian warriors that got added to help the Chimera Alliance kill the Christian-coded Horkos, but I need to look more at the lore. I've also got three more games to try and write reviews for - Night in the Woods, Flexible Survival, and Tokyo Afterschool Summoners - so I'll try and get that done sometime hopefully soon.
Over on another forum, some guy also compiled a long list of "woke" in vidyas. Although it'd be more accurate to call that "leftism" or "political correctness", as "woke" is "identity politics" or "social justice" BS unique to Current Year -- like "cultural appropriation" or "microaggressions" -- stuff such as environmentalism was around before.
I won't rule out the possibility that whoever made this is genuinely retarded but there are a lot of things about the list that seem off.
It uses terms like "Anti-patriarchy themes" and decries concepts like "Anti-humanity themes", "transhumanism (ala cyberpunk robotics)" and "pro-environmentalism" despite the fact that none of the big name anti-woke types, even the really stupid ones like Grummz, ever raise a stink about these concepts or use terms that imply they think a buzzword coined by Tumblr feminists is a real concept.
Another thing is that the list's criteria is not consistent at all. To give an example, even if a game portrays transhumanism as bad it's still given a negative mark and yet it gives free passes to games like Half-Life 2, where the entire big enemy faction is overwhelmingly transhuman. And you can't really use the "well if HL2 came out today he'd call it woke" card either because the list doesn't hesitate to give games that came out in the 1990s "Not Recommended" ratings for minor things like having a random NPC imply his brother is gay after speaking with him twenty times. Similarly, some games get a mark just for having female characters in combat while some don't. Again, no consistency.
The list also lists literal porn games that were made for the sole purpose of masturbating and believes that whoever made "Futanari Dickgirl Maid Quest 4" wanted to promote tranny propaganda instead of wanting to make money off horny people. It also has games like fucking Peggle and Bejewled being listed at all despite the fact that not even the most mindrotted culture war sperg has ever looked at a simple puzzle game that's like twenty years old and declared that either of them is a cultural beacon against wokeness/anti-woke.
The list has also been around for a while now and it took a few months for it get options to sort it by category. This implies that the guy who made this spent God knows how much time on the list but couldn't bother to spend ten minutes editing it to not be a total clusterfuck to browse unless you're ctrl+fing. This sounds like a nitpick but it's weird that that he was autistic enough to make this long ass list but wasn't autistic enough to organize it.
There were several other "woke detector" Steam groups that started popping up after the SBI/DEI Detected group blew up that were obviously made by people making fun of the group or trying to well-poison and I don't believe the "Woke Content Detector" group was made before the SBID Group.
Virtually everyone who is aware of the list never uses it for its intended purpose and makes fun of it for being retarded or to laugh at le silly chuds. No prominent anti-woke types have acknowledged the list, that I'm aware of anyway, it's just people making fun of the list.
Lastly, the following is a review made by the group for Sonic Adventure DX, which was given a "Not Recommended". I'll just let it speak for itself.
The game contains subtly anti-human and pro-environment messaging. The most prominent human character Dr. Robotnik/Eggman, is unambiguously antagonistic, using animals as a power source for robots (turning them into robots in some versions) and trying to destroy natural landscapes for polluting urban development. The player characters are anthropomorphic animals trying to stop him (along with one robot who rebelled against him). No other humans are given voices, or plot significance, and the game can be completed without talking to any of them. The only other human given a name is "Mr. Know-It-All", a nickname for a smug hint-giving character. When a city populated by humans is destroyed in the game's conclusion, Tails says "All's well that ends well", indicating a lack of care for humans.
The game contains subtle metaphors for climate change. A recurring boss, Chaos, is a water monster which keeps growing from Eggman's influence; eventually becoming an uncontrollable flood that turns against its master and destroys a city for the final battle.
The game contains subtly anti-colonialist messaging. Through flashbacks, we learn that Knuckles' ancestor, Chief Pachacamac, was the first to awaken the water monster Chaos, thanks to his ambitions to take over surrounding tribes with the Master Emerald's power. His daughter Tikal warns him against expanding the kingdom, and it's explicitly shown that Chaos only started being evil due to Pachacamac invading his territory and hurting its creatures.
NiGHTS from NiGHTS Into Dreams (a genderless character referred to by Sega with they/them pronouns, rated as "Informational" on this list) features prominently in the Casinopolis stage. The Chao, a major feature of plot and gameplay, are based off the genderless Nightopians. Chao have no genders, and any two Chao can be bred. Individual Chao are also referred to with "they/them" pronouns by Sega.
>game about blue furry and his furry friends
>anti human messaging
oh shieeet really? it's not like it was set from sanic 1 where dr.robotnik goes around robofying animals and shieet.
They have grown completely unhinged after being kicked out by a tranny in the Codex, unfairly so to boot (as usual), and the Codex has been in decline since Infinitron took over, but they are taking it too far.
t also has games like fucking Peggle and Bejewled being listed at all despite the fact that not even the most mindrotted culture war sperg has ever looked at a simple puzzle game that's like twenty years old and declared that either of them is a cultural beacon against wokeness/anti-woke.
And this one is a genuine WTF. For extra hilarity it's Frontiers the one truly woke, with Eggman randomly stating in an audio log that Amy Rose is a stronk woman (TM), despite not having interacted with in decades.
Game: Drop Duchy
Rating: None It's a fun little roguelite deckbuilding tetris game that has eaten up like three straight days of my life. Granted, there's not much room for wokeness since everything in the game, which are essentially gathered resources, are abstractions. The worst thing you could say about the developer is that he's French, but as far as social media related to the game he seems to keep discussion about the game or games like it (which is all you can really ask for).
World of Goo: It's a silly puzzle game about building bridges out of living goo balls, not much more than that. There's a small amount of social commentary about consumerism, pollution, and the state of the Internet in 2008, but it's relatively mild and has nothing that could be considered woke. World of Goo 2: For 99% of the game, same as before. It's a silly little game about building bridges out of goo.
(Spoilers ahead) In Chapter 4, there are a few sets of levels where they switch up the game's genre. In the Cyberpunk-Noir Black Stain section, there's a brief bit with a drag queen. That said, it's mostly played as a comedic bit and not a "le faaaabulous pride and acceptance" thing, if that makes any sense.
I believe this is not woke. It is a simple matter of fact that all security officers are bastards.
On a funny note. Long before Big Floyd died in Barotrauma legacy it was common practice for security officers to suffocate people by stunning, handcuffing, and placing an oxygen mask with the air tank replaced with a welding fuel tank. This was because the modded karma system did not punish security officers for arresting innocent people only killing them and it saw giving someone an oxygen mask as a positive not a negative and would sometimes give the officer positive karma. They were Floyding people without even knowing it.
Game: Mighty Jill Off
Rating: Heavy. Game is about a retarded lesbian troon couple into BDSM. The main character's tranny mistress kicks him down the stairs and when you complete the game, it repeats all over again while showing you BDSM fetish artwork. Even the artist for the game was worried it would end up becoming lolicon porn.
Proposal to reclassify Super Meat Boy to Mild because of 1) the Mighty Jil [sic?..] Off cameo, 2) Edmund McMillen - or whoever's managing the socials - being an aggressive pro-troon faggot over at Twitter (tweet | archive).
Also, proposal to keep a watchful eye on Mycopunk: Devolver made a dig at Borderlands 4 costing $80, saying that you'll be able to spend this much on four copies of Mycopunk, one for you and three for your friends, tweet here - though given the tone, the humor and the everpresent fagbow (six colours, checks out) in the trailer, it already looks like budget Borderlands 2. Like, sure, you can already download and play the demo, but uh

Edmund hasn't been involved with Meat Boy in years. I'd say mild is generally correct but the cameo can be completely ignored on a playthrough since it's "hidden."
Maybe something like "Mild (Game Only)"? since Team Meat (without Edmund but still with Tommy) are faggots now.
