I would argue the game has no wokeshit at all. The main character Niko is never referred to with any gender in the game as his gender is meant to be up to the player's interpretation. However, in the Glen area, the ram shepherd is based off one of the programmers, "Eliza" (actually Matthew) Velasquez. He is a troon who made a video of him cremating his ballsacks and turning them into earrings. This is not a joke. However, the person who actually designed the game, art, music, etc, Nightmargin, is an actual woman. The shepherd character being a self insert of Matthew, as far as I know, isn't mentioned in the game itself so that's why I'd say the None rating is debatable.

I'd say None/Mild is a fair rating. I gave it to World of Goo 2 and was debating giving it None because there's nothing remotely woke about it besides that random drag queen that briefly appears, seems like OneShot is a similar case.

I don’t think we need to take into the account of self inserts/sonas of people unless the people behind them go preachy. He sounds the type of guy to go “umm aktually Nico is nonbinary” later down the line akin to the Celeste dev but it doesn’t look like he said anything so I’d say it’s safe for now.

Wouldn't the use of the accused "they" pronoun, which by the way whose use is exaggerated, count as woke? As the "they" inanity is part of that insane belief of having "atypical" genders and such. Other characters use "they" to refer to Nico constantly, and it annoys me to no end.

iirc Niko is never referred to any gendered pronoun in the game. are you talking about "Here Comes Niko?" it's a woke game where its about some child who realises he's "non binary"

edit: he is referred to as "they" in the character bios of the World Machine Edition, but it never claims he's nonbinary or some retarded shit. the developers seemingly are still going with his gender being up to the player or something.

Thankfully there isn't any offensive furniture as far as I have seen in the game, but there does seem to be an abundant amount of diverse people in the fictional port town of Pinnacove.

Concerning the main quest line, there is also an abundance of diversity. Granted, it does seem to be fairly even in amount of minorities to whites, but it's still wildly more ethnically diverse than their first game is.



There is also a job that you do for a Lesbian Couple, that has a portrait of said interracial lesbian couple kissing on the premise. However, the white woman feels like she might be a troon just based on the art alone.



Of course, It wouldn't be a diverse game without a (legitimately) disgusting negress with vitiligo either. You do a job of cleaning up after her driveway concert.



As far as I've seen, there is no one going by "Mx", no they/them pronouns being use for characters, or blatantly obvious troon characters with obnoxious fag flags on them. Just an unfortunate amount of ugly women with manjaws and diverse people.

I probably missed stuff, but this is all I spotted during a recent playthrough.

It disappeared for a while, but I feel confident that it's started showing up more recently in professional works because those Tumblrtards grew up and entered the industry and haven't mentally changed at all since they were teenagers, so now they're doing the same stuff but in places more people are looking.

The trend of pronouns, tons of sexualities, sub-identities, those were commonplace on tumblr back in the day too. Even some less obvious trends like shipping used to be common in tumblr fandoms, those are overused in writing nowadays for TV and movies.

The other two ratings in thread have correct info. I just wanted to add a bit that bothers me basically. There is a "historian" character that essentially lets you find rare items. *Every* other NPC with unique dialog has fixed portraits but the historian randomly picks between a black male and female. I don't think I would've even noticed if it was always the same portrait but it's the only NPC that works like this.

You can quibble about all the make up of the other unique NPCs (there's a lot of hyper-competent women that are all "good guys" for example) but those are all unique portraits that you could argue is the actual character they wanted to make. By having the historian pick randomly but always be Black it really makes it seem like someone thought they needed some brain-rot representation and said "make the historian Black" with no other thought given to it.

Also when I get the sheboon it takes me out of it every time because I just can't suspend my disbelief and believe a sheboon is a traveling historian.
