Why is it always the blacks which make them think about slavery? Or do they think white people were never enslaved?
My general thought coming from the south, and let that be my bias, is that the US narrative is a frenetic chase after perpetual union. The CSA and our civil war was a real and legitimate threat to that, and you know how we americans look at our country in almost blasphemously divine ways.

My general opinion is that the american civic religion enshrined blacks, not necessarily because anyone actually likes blacks (lincoln himself wanted them all off back to africa or down into south america and figured them to all be incapable of civilization), but from an almost religious hate of confederate ideals, since we confederates are the devil that nearly destroyed their divine country. Confederates saw blacks as an inferior race in need of tutelage from slavery, and so the maximal reaction, so as to maximally invalidate the confederate opinion, is to elevate them to the maximal position as saints and angels.

Slavery is about blacks because slavery is only evil because confederates, who nearly killed the "divine union" practiced it, and they practiced it against blacks.

Oh man, wait until they learn about gay shit.

I had a revelation the other day. When you look at Western art from before about 1900, whether it's music or literature or even like, particularly fancy furniture or jewelry, it always has some sort of religious motif or symbolism. People had to include Jesus or Mary or God or the saints or what have you in everything they do.

Generally, when you find personal items from the past 2,000 years that had a great deal of care or work put into them, that one might assume indicates a something of a great deal of importance to the maker or the owner, it's always religious. You don't find a centuries old grandfather clock with a motif of fishing or chess or polo anywhere near as often as you find one with religious iconography.

I work in an office where virtually everyone who's personalized their office has personalized it with gay shit. Everyone has multiple rainbow-colored items, a minimum of one "progress" flag, their pronouns on the nameplate on the door...

I'm certainly not the first person to notice that dialectical leftism is a religion, but I am noticing how it really does fill all of the traditional roles of religion. I worked in offices in the early 2000s too. Once upon a time, you could look at someone's office and tell that they were into birdwatching, or NASCAR, or the show Friends, or whatever. Then, in 2017 or so it seemed like everyone was baptized in the holy church of sodomy and that was all they cared about, and now there's been a reformation and the transubstantiation of the goontroon is the most significant part of the catechism, and like people living in the 1500s, none of their other interests rise so much to the level of notice.

For a brief period, people signaled things about themselves that they thought were unique or interesting. Now, they've returned to signaling nothing but their faith, and have ironically turned their public life into a gray morass of sameness.

It's a guilt tripping game. It's racist not to praise niggers, it's homophobic not to lick fags' shoes, it's transphobic not to suck gock, etc.

God forbid people want to show what their true interests are. No one cares what YOU like, you HAVE to plaster yourself with stickers and pins to show your unyielding zealotry to the Troon God!

When your livelihood is threatened by maniacal idpols, you tend to shut up about your beliefs/hobbies. Unfortunately so.
They literally did this to themselves
They'll always have golems to work for them, it just depends on what threshold the new ones cave in. It was niggers, now it's curryniggers.

the anti "mirror bacteria" shelter reminds me of this

At first I was thinking it was just an ad for a cool flashlight with a radio and one of those recharge cranks that were all the rage for a few decades. I somehow completely forgot about how absurd this shit got lmao.

I'd imagine that the reddit admins would feel the same when they stare at a screen filled with [ Removed by reddit ] comments too.
