I think it comes down to Destiny wanting to speak freely about his case in public and wanting to work with a lawyer who will tolerate that. I can imagine the typical lawyer would want any public statements to be more rehearsed than what Destiny has done recently, and him going off half-cocked in public would probably strain the working relationship he had with a typical lawyer. Andrew Brettler is a Hollywood lawyer and understands there are PR implications to this case. He's probably willing to let Destiny handle damage control as he sees fit, and Destiny is paying a premium for that.

You're right that the footsoldiers aren't going to leave him, but they still need to be fed talking points if they're going to defend him.

Agreed, the best thing Pxie is doing is keeping her mouth shut. Even if her lawyer makes procedural errors or have to strike certain accusations, admitting his inflammatory statements and flooding the record with BS will probably make the judge more likely to view him disfavorably. It’s also a lot more work to try and get these things dropped from the record than it is to submit them. You’re basically always playing catch up at that point, and it’s costing Destiny tons of money to just reply. I think Destiny is seeing that his idea of a clear cut justice system where everyone neatly follows the rules is imaginary. In reality, things can get much more messy and frustrating than whatever gameplan his lawyers laid out.

That being said, I don’t know why any of the sexpest stuff would make any difference on his political takes. The merits of the argument should speak for themself. Of course, he is good at twisting the conversation in his favor, and not applying the same standard to his side, which is more of a valid reason to not listen to him.

As far as qualifications, I don’t see why that’s that relevant. Hasan has a political science degree and is still a certified retard. College doesn’t really teach you how to think critically anyway(specifically humanities). The problem is that Destiny doesnt have any real opinions tho (if you define real opinions as opinions he doesnt just hold/advocat for bc it furthers his goals) and isnt even somewhat reasonable: mocking kids isnt ok, embracing and calling for violence isnt ok,.... and so on, you get the point.

Maybe the problem is that in europe political pundits arent as popular in the mainstream, but i and most ppl i know try to get their news from objective, reasonable scources that have some qualifications behind them, as this makes it easier/more reasonable to trust what they say without the need to double and triplecheck everything.

Yeah I don't watch him for his takes on consent, trans shit and stuff like that. I enjoy him dunking on people on issues that matter to me like Ukraine/Russia for example. I'm European as well.
