He is terminally autistic and rants about his real life problems too much… in effect, he is a mild lolcow that thinks he is a personality streamer, but ultimately much of his work is good.

If he had a better personality, people would support “his initiatives” more, because right to repair has already passed in California.

Oh, I know he has an account here. I asked him to give Mr. Clinton a greenie for me and instead he said he wouldn't let any of us even pet his cat, which was oddly savage. I'm hoping Louis realizes Kiwi Farms isn't the Reddit bogeyman he thinks it is and starts participating more. I doubt that'll happen, but a man can dream. I am personally a giant fan of Louis because his advocacy helped get a solid right to repair law in my state.

I have genuinely learned things from his videos. I cannot say that for most other channels I currently watch. A lot of the companies he talks about I was at the very least considering buying something from, but ultimately decided against. I appreciate the MacBook repair era like everyone else, but this new Customer Wiki era is so much more useful to me. I'm never going to buy a modern Mac, but this will absolutely stop me from buying something shitty before it's too late and have to deal with a week of getting my money back.

He already posted on X (before he deleted his account) that everyone he previously banned was unbanned (the ones he could do), so in theory they're better off now. But still, I wouldn't trust that guy's software EVER again, even for free. I'd destroy the drives, and maybe even get rid of the motherboard itself, because I would not be surprised in the slightest if this monster did something at the BIOS level.

I did see that, but his shit couldn't possibly work offline if he has the ability to revoke licenses, so I assume it'd be rendered unusable if he decides to take the server down. Hopefully the free alternative gets more attention and support, so people can use repair tools that aren't run by the voyeuristic pedophile soup nazi.

The biggest problem the FOSS world has is the same problem lolbertarians have. lolbertarians are the ones who will remain libertarian even if it gets them killed/removed/deplatformed/destroyed because they claim to support "muh principles". One such guy is Rand Paul.

He's based, until he's not. IIRC he supported the opposition to Trump's ban on allowing people on EBT/food stamps to buy drinks, because he claimed it was "government overeach" or some stupid shit like that.

He's also supported the Democrats stopping that gang member from El Salvador from being re-deported (but thankfully we deported him anyway).

There's a lot of lolbertarians like this. Null is one. Dave Smith is another. The "real" lolbertarians I've seen see the "Great Replacement" happening and they think it's perfectly ok to do nothing about it because we can't make "government bigger" to stop it.

There were tons of communists and leftists at the beginning of the free software movement, Stallman himself was a radical leftist as you would know if you read his free software manifesto, this is the same reason why, despite the "free as in free speech, not free beer" mantra, the great majority of free software has been free of cost. The only thing that changed is modern leftism and the political leanings of the dominant class making the leftist push for more extreme things more confidently, and more desperately.

It's certainly better than Google's solution, but to be honest it seems like it was better towards the beginning than it is currently. The biggest problem is that despite speaking clearly (I don't have any kind of accent that could confuse the software), it will still auto-type words that make absolutely no sense given the context of the rest of the message, and it may take several tries in some cases. In the worst of cases, after several failed attempts I will give up and type it myself.

It's still 1000% better than Google's TTS because at least FUTO's keyboard gets the punctuation correct, but the ability to get words correct that make sense seems to have gotten worse.
