The texts that are Nick's "evidence" didn't exist until after Nick made the claim and got blocked. It also involves corroboration from a bitter substance abusing ex-wife begging for sexual attention from Nick by stroking his ego. It doesn't mean that Aaron didn't eat the goo, but the "evidence" doesn't add any more weight to Nick's claim since April will likely say anything in relation to Aaron if she thinks it will benefit her.

This means Nick's conception of "the other day" goes up to 3+ months at minimum.

The problem with that chat is that at that time, it was fairly clear that Nick was not yet aware that CGoody was dead, so many were correct to infer that his intent was to deceive the listener into believing he and CGoody were still on good speaking terms with some back-and-forth communication having occurred within the common understanding of "the other day" meaning sometime in the past week. Had he already known that CGoody was dead, he would not have committed to invoking that common understanding of "the other day" because he would have known that the listener would realize why that was impossible and he would have been caught in a lie easily avoided by selecting a different wording.

If anything this chat only bolsters my point in that it's another example of his using that exact phrase to deceive, increasing the likelihood that he also used that phrase to deceive in the case of the stop light story. It is the effect on the listener that determines whether use of that phrase in one version contradicts the others, not whatever idiosyncratic definition he arbitrarily cooked up in his own mind without ever even bothering to tell anyone what that new definition is. To engage in the mental gymnastics needed to accept his own insane definition out of hand just to cobble together a scenario where the stories were internally consistent within the confines of his mind alone would be beyond pedantic and a bastardization of the very purpose of language itself.

Lying about April having a new boyfriend who driving around with April and flipped him off when he saw Nick definitely seems odd to make up, because it totally contradicts Nick's narrative about their split being on good terms.

As I said, a simple "limited hangout" tactic would adequately explain that contradiction, if he correctly realized that almost nobody finds him credible anymore and seasoning the story with a dash of self-deprecation was the only way to make it believable. He uses performative self-deprecation alone all the time as a means of humanizing himself or garnering sympathy for example, so the idea that he would also bake self-deprecation into basic-bitch PR 101 tactics like a limited hangout isn't a huge reach, especially when content like his January 7th diary post about "decoy" and "batch denial" PR tactics would suggest that he is somewhat well-read in that field.

Still, with no way to corroborate facts on the ground one way or another, and with only the somewhat sussy timing contradictions to go on plus his continued public pining for April as though there's still something to preserve, I'm honestly only about ~70/30 against the core elements of the story being true. If April being so alienated as to fork over the bodycam footage ends up being the proof that I'm wrong, I will be very, very happy to be wrong.

If anyone still needed proof of Rekieta's complete lack of Broad Affect here it is. CGoody dies, the circumstances would trigger in anyone sane some kind of self reflection, but in Rekieta's diseased mind: nothing.
