Looking into it, they seem to have attempted a Waypoint "relaunch" in 2024 after firing all their old writers and not paying them severance they were apparently owed. Even putting aside the terrible, terrible generic pooner voice Ana has and that they're trans there is NO CHANCE Valens would ever be accepted to a VTuber talent agency because THEY ARE NOT A TALENTED ENTERTAINER. Yes VAllure makes what boils down to porn at the end of the day for some of their content but they still have to do Youtube-friendly streams and be fairly likeable people. I don't even think Ana has a YouTube channel. Basically all she plays is Valorant on Twitch and she's peaked at Gold 3 (which is incredibly average). She's been on Twitter for almost 15 years as a relatively public figure and has about 14,000 followers. She's like 32! And most of all, she is INCREDIBLY unlikeable in the VTubing sphere now!

This is not a horse I would bet on as the operator of a content creation company - VAllure, from what I can gather, writes scripts for their talents, helps book events for them, and generally helps with their expenses and refining their content - why would you take those resources and give them to someone who's had the backing of professional companies in their years online already and basically only created controversy and worthless "journalistic" output?

TL;DR: Valens applied to be a content creator a for VTubing/Porn content company, got declined and thinks it's because the management of the company is transphobic. I suspect there's probably about a dozen other equally valid reasons.

I don't know much, but one model with rigging can easily cost 4 figures (low to mid maybe?), and that's below the bare minimum. You also have the usual business registration fees, website, site design, etc... It's not a trivial cost, but I don't think it's unachievable either.

I was under the impression that this was independent vtubers pairing up corporately, but I forgot since I didn't care. If everyone has a model already like Phil does and a pre-established fanbase, it cuts down the cost to business registration fees, forcing someone's polycule memeber to do a website design for free, website domain, legal stuff, etc. I know they want to team up for a video game and other erotic material, so paying a coder or being a coder would be part of that too.

It's not recognized because it's a subtype of OCD, not its own separate disorder. There's assessments and differentials for diagnosing POCD as opposed to pedophilic disorder available on the APA PsycNet.

That's just a journal article, it is not part of accepted diagnostic criteria nor guidelines. Further, it is not listed anywhere in the section of the DSM-5-TR under OCD.

Also, POCD fails the basic diagnostic criteria for OCD as outlined in the DSM-5-TR:

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Diagnostic Criteria F42.2

Compulsions are defined by (1) and (2):

1. Repetitive behaviors (e.g., hand washing, ordering,
checking) or mental acts (e.g., praying, counting,
repeating words silently) that the individual feels driven to
perform in response to an obsession or according to rules
that must be applied rigidly.

2. The behaviors or mental acts are aimed at preventing or
reducing anxiety or distress, or preventing some dreaded
event or situation; however, these behaviors or mental
acts are not connected in a realistic way with what they
are designed to neutralize or prevent, or are clearly
excessive.

POCD flunks the second requirement, their behaviors or mental acts are clearly connected in a realistic way with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent. They listed behaviors such as "avoiding taking jobs involving children". This is clearly connected to the ego-dystonic thoughts and are a realistic way to prevent harm.

The most significant criteria that POCD fails is the last one, which is necessary for a diagnosis of OCD:

D. The disturbance is not better explained by the symptoms of
another mental disorder (e.g., excessive worries, as in
generalized anxiety disorder; preoccupation with appearance,
as in body dysmorphic disorder; difficulty discarding or parting
with possessions, as in hoarding disorder; hair pulling, as in
trichotillomania [hair-pulling disorder]; skin picking, as in
excoriation [skin-picking] disorder; stereotypies, as in
stereotypic movement disorder; ritualized eating behavior, as
in eating disorders; preoccupation with substances or
gambling, as in substance-related and addictive disorders;
preoccupation with having an illness, as in illness anxiety
disorder; sexual urges or fantasies, as in paraphilic disorders;
impulses, as in disruptive, impulse-control, and conduct
disorders; guilty ruminations, as in major depressive disorder;

repetitive patterns of behavior, as in autism spectrum
disorder).

Clearly POCD flunks this criteria completely. The disturbance in thought involving "sexual urges or fantasies as in paraphilic disorders" is much more well explained by Pedophilic Disorder and is indeed a paraphilic disorder.

Since POCD doesn't even meet the essential diagnostic criteria in the DSM-5-TR for OCD it can't possibly be a subtype of OCD.

Ana doesn't have POCD though.
