I've been thinking a bit about what people even mean by "AI."
Obviously, these days it's most commonly used for these large language models forking off OpenAI and the like. But machine learning as a concept has been conceived of since the 1950's and been incorporated into commercial products since at least the 1980's (see: Genetic Algorithm).
So whenever stats are quoted about "business adoption of AI" or whatever. Are they even talking specifically about this trendy new stuff or are they also including shit like Algorithmic Trading that companies have already been using to hedge their investments for decades?
