Just got myself a genuine SIG (not that American garbage):
This Baby can hold up to half a liter of chocolate milk:View attachment 7360297Let's see your Glock do that chuddie :smug:
At least you know it can't spontaneously fail and dump chocky milk into your crotch if you carry it in your waistband.

Beretta does all right for what it's worth. They've got:
  • Sako
  • Tikka
  • Stoeger
  • Chapius
  • Benelli
  • Franchi
  • Uberti
  • Holland & Holland
  • Stiener
  • Burris
From what I've understood, they've been very good owners for SAKO. Basically saved them from bankruptcy, has invested a shit ton in the production, but pretty much left everything for the Finns to manage. They know where the brand value comes from, and don't try to mess with it. I wonder if they have some rules in place about what SAKO is allowed to do, but they are also happy to let SAKO do stuff that competes against Beretta itself, if it results in bringing in money to the conglomerate. Beretta tried to interest Finland in their ARX-160 like a decade ago, no success (Beretta even offered to tool up SAKO to make it). Some time later, they probably gave the green light for SAKO to start designing their own assault rifle, and the end result is that it has now been adopted by Sweden as their new service rifle, and is going to be adopted by Finland at some point in the near future. Pretty big military contracts, talking about hundreds of millions of euros.

I have mixed feelings on what's going on right now with the suppressor bill. While obviously it's best to get them off the nfa, I am pessimistic about that actually passing. The goal to make them have no fee is a small step, but it's hard to swallow. It could end up hurting the effort to kill the NFA in the future because "well you don't need to pay $200 anymore." (Manufacturers still have a $200 fee under the new change. Just not transfers) But also "why are we making the government spend all this money processing these and they aren't even paying $200 anymore?"

The short act also was just completely killed entirely

I can see the arguments and reasons why for both and I want the NFA gone too, but I wonder if this moment is simply tossing a small victory out for more years of no movement and alienating people in Congress who are trying to do something. The idea these rinos will be primaried and lose to a super pro 2A person is very optimistic.

suppressor bill
The kind of cockblock "Oh we'll lower the fee to $5" presents is the guarantee that any further attempts will be quashed by reasoning of them already having done something, as if it's throwing us a bone.
$200 is not a significant amount anymore, the argument the entire time was that you have to be fingerprinted and put on a database for shit based upon an honor system. On top of that, so many people have multiple cans and with those numbers it depletes the usefulness as a crimesolving resource, not to mention that in the most violent areas nobody gives a shit about making noise because that's part of the point.

They have no excuse anymore, poachers use bows and bait now.

Yeah, it's just a mess. There's so many things you could do to make it less of a hassle if you are going to cuck out than just $200 being $0. I guess the only thing I would think is if this is passed as a compromise it at least signals it's feasible to attack the NFA and may encourage others to view more changes as feasible and not a losing battle. Trying to be optimistic.

Yeah I'm totally sympathetic with the "this is just political platitudes" opinion but overall it feels like there's been a lot of pro 2A momentum. How long ago was it that your tax stamp approval could take like 3-6 months? From what I understand its more like 8 weeks now. Lots of states are embracing constitutional carry too. Bureaucracy is, by design, difficult to move but I'm hopeful for the future.

One day soon I will be able to buy a fully functional replica MG3 from Amazon and have it delivered straight to my door.
