Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Kingdom Come Deliverance is terrible. I just tried the first game today as it was given away free during the release of KCD2. I was looking forward to playing it, as it seemed highly praised here and by my friends. What am I missing? It's actually dogshit. It is so incredibly boring and I legitimately nodded off during the first quest. It is extremely clunky, and the theme of telling a person you are ready to do X quest, and then you have to walk with them for a minute to a location, only to again talk to them to say yes I want to do X quest is really fucking tedious. My parents were just slaughtered and I went though to most clunky escape sequence ever and got to the next town. I alt-f4'd in the middle of a cutscene, I just have no desire to continue.

Oh yea the voice acting and sound design is also horrible. It sounds like the devs just had his friends read lines and recorded over discord, with the exception of the father character. There is also little to no ambient noise and no music, I thought maybe I accidentally muted the sound settings or my installation was corrupted.
I am actually glad someone is saying this. I really do not understand how some people act like KCD is some kind of masterpiece. In my opinion its a "ok" at best for an indie game.

I never got the impression people treated it as a masterpiece. It was at the right place and time when the dev pushed against diversity and it was picked up by a segment of gamers. Also the game is AA, not indie.

I read this before reading what you were replying to.

I haven't played it since I was a kid but it left me thinking; Is that what was happening in Sonic Adventure?!
Don't remember the great gang war of Angel Island? Tikal was ready to pop a cap in some niggas, but Amy just had to barge in with her dumbass bird. Don't even get me started on that fatass cat. No one cares about your frog. We're having a war!

What's this stupid fucking robot doing here?

Guacamelee rules and was unfairly shit on when it came out for having all those outdated memes. The sequel was disappointing and basically a rehash of the first game.
I gave up on the sequel and definitely couldn't shake off how much it tried being like the first game. It also jumped its own shark when it introduced multiple Chivos who're supposedly from multiple dimensions. He was amusing in small bits in the first game, but stretching him out that much in the sequel was incredibly obnoxious and overstayed its welcome in seconds. It gave me a vibe where if there was a choice to kill or retain a character, I'd kill off Chivo if it meant opening a door towards some progression or sense of moving forward in a sequel.

There were also some questionable choices done like zooming all the way out to emphasize the environment, like is that necessary? I can barely tell what I'm doing or where I'm going. Are you making a game or a slideshow? The sequel just didn't seem to have a good direction.

trooneste was never said to have bad movement, what the fuck are you smoking?
It's inaccurate and feels like shit.

The most offensive aspect of Wind Waker was the dungeons.
They're the best in the series. Worst part of the game was the side quests, most notably the photography one.

ALL gacha games should be rated 18+ and require age verification via ID. Most of them are softcore porn anyway.
I agree, even though it'd kill the genre, which may be a good thing anyway.

I can never play a game without vibration. No vibration feels like I'm holding dead space.
I can never play a game with vibration. It makes me want to throw the controller across the room. It always annoys me when the first menu has it enabled and I can't turn it off until several menus later.

Game developers needs to learn to do more with less.

People saying Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is saving the games industry deserve to be bopped on the back of the head. In fact the games industry doesn't deserve to be saved.
Expedition 33 is almost an exact clone of FFX plot wise except there's no Auron automatically making it the inferior game.

Lack of Tidus is a plus though.

If you run the newest games at settings a Radeon 6700 XT can handle, they look great. How do I know? I have one. But what you don't get is that mental satisfaction of opening up the settings window and seeing everything is on "Ultra," meaning that in the back of your mind, you have to cope with the painful truth that somebody out there, possibly a console peasant with a PS5 Pro, is having a better experience than you.
You need to stop getting your opinions on other people from reddit. Its rotting your brain dude.

I have been playing PC games since the 90s and have never cared about any of that stuff, other than I could get a stable fps and timing for my own enjoyment. I have also owned plenty of consoles, and never felt lesser for playing one over the other.

Thats as retarded as those people who spend a kings ransom on sound systems to play some anime music on, ignoring the fact it doesn't make sense.

Maybe the new CoD installs all future content, but the publisher will gradually make it available in the future. Kinda like that infamous DLC for Bioshock which was already on the retail disc and you had to pay to unlock it. I know it isn't actually 300GB, though.

Last CoD I played was Advanced Warfare and it played almost exactly the same as CoD 4: MW (the first of the "new" ones). They never even bothered to fix enemies respawning every 3 seconds on Veteran.

My experience of PC gamers bitching about their 5-year-old PCs "only" hitting 60 fps at HD resolutions when they run the latest games at something less than ultra settings comes entirely from this website.

Standard Atari 2600 carts held at most 4KB and Pitfall! has a twenty minute time limit to finish.

That means we should be getting five minutes of gameplay per kilobyte, with room to spare. By my calculations, 1GB works out to roughly ten years of content. That's without even factoring in modern data compression techniques. If Activision still hired decent programmers instead of lazy retards, their games would take millennia to complete.

Don't give them ideas. That means that they'll rationalize charging $70 for a bloated open world because of $1 per minute or whatever. Actually, they DO that already.
