Phil either consciously or subconsciously is trying to keep things as utterly boring as possible to starve detractors. He’s betting that the dents will pay no matter how bad it gets. I gotta say, I’m watching less recently. I can’t stand the tedium.

A side effect, though, may be increased gay opping. There’s a financial incentive for people “people” like doody. There’s also the perverse need to punish him for withholding sperg outs that some of the really loony detractors might feel.

I guess time will tell.

I have not watched any of DSP's truck simulator playthrough but I can tell you without even watching it's the literal worst thing Phil could play. Truck simulator has no real gameplay in the traditional sense of the word. You are in a truck driving down highways and nothing else happens. It's far more of a simulation then a video game if you get what I'm saying. There's no battles, bossfights or cutscenes. There is literally nothing for Phil to read or commentate about so he's either just going to be silent or do another version of his podcast which is already horrifically long.

I assume Phil isn't doing any of the remotely challenging things like backing up and fitting into places. He's just CHILL driving.

Also, it's impossible for any adult human being to sit down and talk to DSP for more than an hour and not become increasingly frustrated and insulted at how much he's obviously lying to their faces.

I love how even Null after talking with Phil for one hour went "yeah now I get why you guys hate this guy". My favorite is still Adam Crigler, dude knew nothing about Phil and after five hours he just hated his guts.

You got me interested in what I would find for "taser" on pigpiggo and I found this clip of Phil talking about having a taser that he used to bring with him traveling and he tested it on himself lol.

He's going to fake those tips since he ends up making more during the marathons and DSP TRIES IT anyways, so it's a net gain for him. The marathons need to happen in his mind though because he can't stand the thought of doing things around his house and not getting paid for it. His closet for example, he really wanted to hit the goal for the closet cleaning since he apparently can't do it off stream. It probably kills Phil on the inside knowing that if he had less detractors, or his address wasn't public, he could live stream himself doing his errands so he could just get money from his fanbase for basic shit just like IRL streamers do.

Truck Simulator is an interesting streaming game for me in regards to Phil. KCD2 was apparently boring because he sat around for an hour with little actual gameplay as NPCs talked, something Phil loves in his other games because it means less work for him and he gets to shut off his brain. However, with TS, it's apparently fun watching Phil spend four hours driving down a road with nothing happening and little in way of conversation ,while he occasionally pulls to the side to hit something so he can act like he actually got into a accident because it's always funny. Even after the one hundredth time of him doing it.

Been watching the doom 2016 and film eternal TIHYDPs while working this week due to pigga going viral in dark ages. Absolutely classic Phil playthroughs, it cannot be understated how bad he is at spatial awareness to the point he casablanca look and move at the same time let alone shoot on the go.

In doom 2016 he claims most players won't master the super shotgun because they won't see it's potential, also only using the big twice and only learning what the ammo looks like before the final boss

I'm just wondering how phil could be any more insane. How can he get worse than he already is, he cannot comprehend being shot by enemies off screen, and has several times during Doom walked around living enemies and then acted confused why he was taking damage or died. He's not notcing big bright orange attacks coming at him on screen half time. He begs more often than he gives commentary, he's entitled and selfish as always. But can he change to be worse or is this it until he dies from a heart attack from all the shit food he eats and the heavy drinking?

I'm sure it's already been discussed to death but he lacks object permanence (something babies develop by the time they're 1 years old). Take for example the recent minecraft streams and the "invisible creepers" that actually just sneaked up on him from behind in an unlit cave, but being DSP he thinks the game bugged out and created an explosion effect directly on him out of spite because after all if it ain't there it doesn't exist in his mind. Even more egregious is when he turns his back to an enemy and they continue to attack instead of ceasing to exist.

Another example is during the COD streams, when someone sneaks up on him or isn't easily visible on screen it's an "invisible" or "non existing" player killing him

Ok so I just watched DSP play Doom and fight his viewers through Memology. I have noticed a pattern that not ONCE! that he has ever considered that he banned most of his dents and they are never coming back. This is literally not even the first time by the way, it's a recurring pattern when he begs for support especially after the Yakuza rant at the start of last year.

And then he's remarking that he's not hurting anyone when fighting his viewers but unlike sociopaths that can actually wreck people (e.g. Sinder and Lily Orchard) he's being LAUGHED AT and not simply despised.

He'll "impulsively sexually assault" Khet and end up dying by the knee because he resisted, shouting "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!" to the cops.

I think that unlike most circumstances where he's getting swatted from behind im that case he knows there was a creeper behind him but was coping there rationalizing that "there was no creeper". It's like him saying "guy didn't actually beat me" back in SF6 which should mean "guy shouldn't been able to beat me because the game lagged my inputs." (Also not true but sounds way less insane than "you did not actually beat me.")

But otherwise yeah he literally can't see stuff that isn't on screen even if it's behind him. Just keeps running and running. Like with the Metaphor demo where a Goborn runs right behind him and wipes his face off the earth (note that he was running at least healer and mage there so the Goborns can wipe him preemptively), I don't remember him saying something like "THERE WAS NO GOBLIN!!" but the situation makes it very clear he cannot register anything but the ones in front of him at all.

Honestly, it came across as pretty low IQ behavior—though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, since gambling is often associated with lower intelligence. I had just finished watching him play Demon’s Souls, and normally, you'd expect someone to start off rough but gradually learn the mechanics, gain confidence, and push through. But he never really did that. He seemed unable to think intuitively. Even by the end of the game, despite being high level, he was still playing like it was his first time. That was also during the period when chat was constantly guiding him—even all the way to the end.
