How is he so bad it video games?

Accumulated brain damage from decades of heavy drinking, a sedentary lifestyle and social isolation deffo hindered his problem solving abilities, let alone his fine motor skills. He's played thousands of games over his 17 year begacy and yet every time he plays a new game it's like he forgets everything he's learned from the previous 999. Like someone in this thread or a youtube comment section said regarding the new Doom, he knows that explosive barrels explode when you shoot them, he knows explosions damage enemies, and yet he can't put two and two together to form a strategy in which he lures enemies and blows them up.

Other than that, he seemingly can't see enemies in his peripheral vision, cannot comprehend that out of sight things still exist, runs into wide open areas in COD, drives into oncoming traffic in driving/racing games, environmental cues other than yellow paint fly over his head. It's why old TIHYDPs were so fun to watch, because he didn't have guides or dents handholding him through the game and you'd instead witness the most incompetent man try to beat a game and fail miserably

i think right now he just fucking hates video games and doesn't care enough to bother learning. it's just something he does in the background while slowly getting drunk and waiting for money. Right now, if a game is released with a demo, he will stop at the demo before he complains about having no donations and wage quits the demo. Before and sometime after his Twitch ban he streamed Danganronpa as if it was another game now he cannot even sit through dialogue at all. You do not see this happen before at the start of last year minimum and it all boils down to him being irreparably burnt out without knowing it or refusing to acknowledge it because this is his "only" way of generating income. Joon and Turkey Tom's documentaries might had also been affected it.

There are many factors but I believe the main one is that he is simply mentally challenged. He SERIOUSLY lacks "common sense". His only interaction is with games now and he is using guides for everything. He would not be able to beat an average game by himself.

It's also worth noting that Phil has horrible vision and is legally required to wear glasses while driving but doesn't because he feels it would be gay and nerdy. His set up of having a TV 15 feet away from him that he has to lean towards and squint at doesn't help.

He really is under the delusion that each stream/on dehmhand video has a unique audience, and his viewership totals in the tens of thousands, when its really just the same handful of dents that show up to everything he does. I thought it was just cope for a while but i do think he really believes the 800 people that show up for blue prince and the 800 that show up for trucking sim are really ~1500 unique people with very little overlap.

That's the thing, he doesn't have to "work" for the money so why bother?
He would rather pretend like he knows what hes doing and blame everything else on why it never allows him to win.

Shit gets crazier when you realize how often he's actively falling into easy gameplay experiences that make him cruise through shit because he guide reads like a mother fucker. That's why games like DOOM and driving style games he eats the most shit. You can't handhold someone through these.

But back to the learning shit. The cologne idea was so fuckin stupid that he didn't bother coming up with a better idea. I agree it's mostly this for Phil. He just doesn't care. He sees games as something he only bothers to progress in and collect money while doing so. Exception is Street Fighter where Phil insists on using his 20 year old strategy and will never adapt.

He gets off on doing this. He loves feeling like he played people. He feels "better than" when he feels like he has socially and mentally manipulated someone. That "better than" feeling is all he chases all day long. His narcissism on top of his stupidity just makes it an impossible goal.

His "concept" of how time works is also really fucking weird. He says nobody wanted to watch him play the Oblivion Remaster because he had "just played the original Oblivion" two years ago, but he claimed he had to get used to/get back into the feeling of Doom because he hadn't played it in awhile, but he quickly stopped himself and said "yesterday."
