Sense of relatability? Unlike film/tv celebs, the appeal of most internet personalities is how more "real/down to earth" they are by comparison, especially when they appeal to very particular niches. There are people who really committed to this guy because they probably empathized with aspects of his life and his frustration with the gaming industry.

It honestly shocked me because I always felt his complaints were very aimless and surface level, even if some of the stuff he has complained about were true to an extent.
