That actually has happened in recent years. In 2009, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, members of the indie folk group The Swell Season, acted as characters in the episode “In the name of the grandfather”. It wasn’t entirely original, as their roles were based on their roles in a movie they made in 2007.I always prefer when the celebrity guests play original characters instead of themselves.
sometimes Hey Look It's Celebrity has worked okay, like The Mel Gibson Episode was as good an excuse for The Simpsons Go Somewhere as anyThat actually has happened in recent years. Marge sounds like a man.
I don't think the show has writers anymore, just AI and the cast records lines in a day. And somehow the animation has gotten even more stiff and soulless. Also for the love of God let Julie Kavner retire, I'm sure theres some autistic girl who can do a 1:1 impression of her. Hell they found one for Cleveland. The modern state of the Simpsons. At least this season is wrapping up tonight. Until next season...
I saw that a modern Simpson episode was on tv and stupidly decided to watch. What I saw was a scene where Homer tips Moe cash as a euphemism for gay sex, which then escalates to them making sex noises as Homer continuously tips moe before eventually ‘cumming’ money like he orgasmed.
It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen.
Episode name? This is so retarded I have to see it for myself.I saw that a modern Simpson episode was on tv and stupidly decided to watch. Can someone explain this to me?
that's shockingly fast turnaround for a pop culture reference for Simpsons
The Simpsons characters will always be remembered, the show and its episodes themselves? Not so much. Nobodies gonna remember an episode from Season 22 where Bart gets a boner from looking at some new teacher who happens to be voiced by some trendy celebrity at the time, while a subplot revolves around Marge getting early menopause from stress and nuclear radiation. Nobody will care about the TOH special where they make fun of A Quiet Place but now the monsters look like Krusty the Clown. The shows last best seasons were almost 30 years ago, the earlier ones even longer. The only thing it could ever be remembered for now is being cancelled or ending. Some people are saying that jab at Smiling Friends is "mean-spirited" but its not, its just really pathetic because The Simpsons is a show that hasn’t been funny for years trying to flex their muscles on a newcomer that's become a success - no matter who is writing the show at any moment, they always seem to be people with chips on their shoulder who will express resentment at newer shows being perceived as popular or hipper than The Simpsons. Whenever the Simpsons tries to mock other shows, you can’t help but wonder if it’s the writers fearing the show might not be well known in the future.
Whenever NuSimpsons makes fun of anything it just comes across as bitter whiny and autisticSome people are saying that jab at Smiling Friends is "mean-spirited" but its not, its just really pathetic because The Simpsons is a show that hasn’t been funny for years trying to flex their muscles on a newcomer that's become a success - no matter who is writing the show at any moment, they always seem to be people with chips on their shoulder who will express resentment at newer shows being perceived as popular or hipper than The Simpsons.
