I found it rather odd that he wasn’t receiving more pushback on the whole sobriety narrative. First, he was Mr. “Sober Since June,” then suddenly became Mr. “More Sober Than Andy Warski,” followed by Mr. “As soon as I could, I went back to my favorite whiskey—but didn’t like it,” and now he’s Mr. “30 Days Sober.” Quite the evolving timeline.
I think the timeline is actually pretty clear.
After he was arrested in late May 2024, he paid the unconditional bond to avoid being drug and alcohol tested. In early June 2024, he had a hearing for his CHIPS case where he was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol testing. He presented a urinalysis test at this hearing which showed that he was still drinking after his arrest.
The testing for his CHIPS case appears to have been in place for roughly 5 months between early June and early November 2024. There is no reason to believe that Nick failed any of his tests during this time period. However April's friend Keanu claimed that during this period they started using whippets to get high without failing the tests. Despite this, he bragged about how he was sober, and how easy it is to get sober, and how he looked down on the people he had to deal with at the rehab that's not a rehab who were actual addicts.
In early November 2024 he had his last test. This was the test Keanu said he was late for, with Kayla blaming April, though he dodged having to do extra testing as a result of this incident. Nick's erratic behavior escalated dramatically almost immediately in November with Nick posting Aaron's search history and Nick and April interacting bizarrely with each other in public throughout the month of November. Nick would also call into Melton with his camera off.
Nick says he was "sober" starting a few days prior to his sentencing in April 2025. In other words he was likely at the very least drinking throughout the entire November-April period. And the only thing stopping him from drinking is the fact that he is being tested.
Nick’s all-consuming, psychotic obsession with Aaron is something he should speak to a psychiatrist about. The fact that he continues to tweet about Aaron and talk about Aaron when he’s supposed to be providing trial commentary is something any dude in his right mind would he embarrassed of. But Nick will do anything to draw more people into his fixation. By continuing to talk about Aaron, he keeps the relationship alive and active.
The same thing can be said about Aaron talking about Nick for the past year.
The only positive attention they can reliably get outside of their small and dwindling fanbases is by going after the other. The fact that they are still doing this over a year after the last time they interacted with each other suggests that they're going to keep doing it for as long as anyone cares.
