Let's see the results of this call between Trump & Putin.
Check Pravda for the only version you’re going to get.

Prediction; Trump will be reminded of what Putin can do to him if he does not permit him to steamroll Ukraine. He will come out of the meeting denouncing Zelenskyy and cancelling any plans to resume aid, and will begin to lift sanctions on Russia.
In parallel, some fabricated dirt will be dropped about the Biden’s involvement.

Seems Trump is slowly starting to push that Russia becomes an important trade partner for the US, lifting of sanctions, etc, just like nothing ever happened!
After Trump’s phone call he seems to be treating it as an Ukraine’s problem to get a ceasefire negotiated with Russia and there’s again no word from Trump about doing the secondary sanctions.

I'm just gonna call it now; everybody will be hung up on this for months, nothing will actually get signed, and this time next year we'll be celebrating year 4 anniversary of the TWO WEEK spehshul miltareh ooperation and rozzia will still have failed to subjugate a sub-peer neighbour less than 1/10 it's size.

This is the same routine as the last time Trump gleefully announced "immediate negotiations for peace".
>Call Putin and ONLY Putin directly
>he claims he's vaguely "open" to peace talks (no details given)
>Trump rushes to tell his supporters that he's finally achieved world peace with just a simple phone call
>also shill for Russia, claiming that they're a vital economic ally to the US
(they haven't been for over the last 80 years)
>Putin and the Russians resume drone striking Ukraine as usual
>Putin and Russians waffle around until Trump forgets
>Trump antagonizes Zelenskyy to try and get in Putin's good graces for the next heart-to-heart lover's phone call
>nothing happens
>war continues

I wrote something similar in these older post drafts that I never clicked to post from the last time this song-and-dance was done. It's an endless, nauseating cycle.
It cannot be stated enough how much of a complete and utter malicious, incompetent retard Donald Trump is, and how fucking cowardly the Republican party is for standing by as he does everything in his power to aid America's worst enemy.

In other news, we have Trump being pissed that Zelensky isn't wanting to just write off Crimea in return for nothing. Still no sign of him growing a backbone when it comes to Russia.

Trump has spent the last 12 years trying to act like appeasing dictators/hostile imperialistic powers like Russia is some kind of secret trick to get whatever you want when it comes to geopolitical conflict and diplomacy. Time and time again it's been proven that this stupid tactic of blaming the victim while buttering up the oppressor has NEVER worked out, which is why every other President before him (and after, in the case of Biden's term) has always stuck to simply funding and aiding allies until the aggressor learns to fuck off and chill out.

All those photo ops of him shaking hands with Putin, Kim Jong-Un, etc -- him and his base see them as him having "corralled" the extremist factions governing the world by befriending them, when really they've corralled him.

America gains literally nothing by ditching Ukraine. The amount of money spent on paying US weapons manufacturers to build and arm Ukraine is negligible, Ukraine being conquered means the west has lost one of its last true allies in Eastern Europe (the second largest country in Europe), and it gives all of our enemies a greenlight to do whatever they want to America's allies.

Putin gains everything from Trump throwing Zelenskyy under the bus. Russia has absolutely zero to offer the US as a trade partner that other countries can't provide, and hasn't for the last 80 years. America lifting sanctions on Russia and becoming trade partners would help Russia more than it would help the US.

Trump's famed business "acumen" has repeatedly been proven to be a fluke propped up by Daddy's Name and Daddy's Money (as well as some incredible scriptwriting on the part of The Apprentice's writing team), but he is, however, a great marketer, which is why millions of people genuinely believe he's some kind of negotiating savant.

Trump's entire populist profile is based on three ideas:
1) There's a simple answer to everything no matter how complex things truly are
2) The people in power before me overcomplicated things by thinking them through before doing them
3)
oh yeah and
4) Nothing is my fault

The last time he tried to apply this mode of thinking, 13 soldiers were killed after he foisted the Afghanistan pullout onto Biden. Now he's trying to pull this shit again, leaving our allies high and dry as if it makes the problem go away instead of get much worse.

The Trump-Putin call really seems a complete nothingburger, with the complete lack of condemnation of Russian terrorism. There's his penalty side in talking of trade, but the gains would be slight compared to the losses from the foolish and erratic tariff and political policy towards Europe. The Russian economy is substantially a raw materials economy so surely more of a rival to US or US controlled hydrocarbons and minerals producers. A Russia that can trade more freely still controlling the ruined one fifth of Ukraine will be an even greater menace to Ukraine and its allies (not directly but political and economic sabotage). European arms producers are scrambling to ramp up production and Ukraine is providing a low cost place to make a lot of it. The US still benefits from helping to arm Ukraine, but here again Trump's foolish delusion he's a dealmaker is surely helping to sideline weapons makers, altho I doubt Trump can do too much damage in four years.

Trump stunning other world leaders with his phone call.

Supposedly Trump did bring up the sanctions bill from the Senate, but said he'd rather have an agreement done first. In other words, kicking the can down the road yet again while everyone wonders why he's acting like a retard.

According to the Kremlin Putin also succeeded in getting a prisoner swap going between the US and Russia.

What is arguably more depressing (or embarrassing, depending on the point of view) is that the rest of the civilized world (other NATO states, Japan, SK) refuses to anything of real value, just standing, waiting and spectating this rimming festival.

Ceasefire is the Fake News, after all. People, including civilians, still die. Millions of UA refugees still can't return home. And russia is not doing bad enough to run out of funds anytime soon.

Trump says he will not impose more sanctions on Russia

From CNN's Aditi Sangal
President Donald Trump told reporters today that he will not increase sanctions on Russia “because there’s a chance” of progress.

“Because I think there’s a chance of getting something done, and if you do that, you could also make it much worse. But there could be a time where that’s going to happen,” Trump said.

Trump spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin today for two hours.

U.S. trade with Russia is almost a rounding error for United States foreign trade books. It everyone else who have to put the sanction screws in and tighten them to hurt Russia.

Lunacy is Trump throwing Putin an economic lifeline for nothing in return.

Nobody wants to fight and die for Ukraine and have the policy of fighting to the last Ukrainian against Russia. Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and others have the bigger more immediate threats of China on their doorstep and domestic issues at home. For them to commit to any direct conflict with a nuclear power is not an option.

So the 12 Billion in aid the Japanese government has given in the form of food, armor, helmets, energy infrastructure, bridge building, technology and hard cash is "nothing of real value"? Not to mention the fact that since the invasion Japan has always been the one at G7 summits to force discussions on sanctions on Russia and has been pushing the diet to consider military aid to a country at war (which requires an amending of the constitution). We also have Russia's No.1 dick rider, the DPRK firing missles over and around Hokkaido and Russia on our border with constant political turmoil over the Kuril islands. Just last year Medvedev said the Japanese should kill themselves over even the IDEA of negotiating about the islands. But I guess we should just drop everything and give Ukraine all of the equipment we need to satisfy what constitutes "real value" or perhaps just try to take Vladivostok and start a hot war on two fronts with the PLAN and The Pacific fleet.

Nothing Ever Happens. More fake & gay negotiations.
this makes me think of the opening the Road Warrior.

Grippens, Meteor missiles and Taurus are game changers.
They aren't available in quanties to be game changers.
I'm hard pressed to think of any platform that would be a "game changer" given the size of the forces involved that wouldn't require copious ammounts on delivery to make a difference. Maybe an Iowa-class? (blah blah subs, blah blah anti-shipping missiles, blah blah nuclear depthcharges)
I joke about Ukraine getting B-2s but unless they got a pacific or central asian base to launch them from they wouldn't do much good.
Maybe some Minuteman III's.

I partial to thinking Trump had to do the "peace" route first just the shut up most of the "peace at all costs" constituents who actively sided with Russia just to spite the democrats.
I thought that might have been the play at first, but I think we're well past that.

I'll grant Trump might be trying to force a "put up or shut up" from the EU and the rest of Europe, or trying to get Ukraine to lower the draft age to 18. But I don't think so.

Trump seems to be fishing for a peaceprize given that first term he'd have just mean tweeted everyone involved in this and the Pakindia war.

Pretty much this. The US is leading the charge on Banking but given the way Russia runs thier "shadow fleet" its virtually impossible without activating additional levels of banking sanctions which bypasses already exist for.

There is only one thing that breaks Russia, and that is the euro members of NATO break their dependence on Russian energy and stop doing business with the #1 threat to their security.

Trump thinks the Vatican is a fitting place for talks on a Ukraine-Russia ceasefire.

It concludes with a sort of apologia for Putin from JD Vance. There's no point getting offended at Thiel's former catamite.

Leo XIV isn't a z / ROC-FSB apologist like Francis, so any effort to undermine Ukraine there won't work.

No deadlines as Kremlin pledges to waste everyone's time, including now Ukraine.

More time to allow Russia to further push into the offensive. Putin has not moved an inch on what he wants from a deal, It's clear as day that Trump wants to restore Russia's reputation and allow future trade and economic ties, which in the long term is fine. But he can't even denounce Putin's invasion, nor give Ukraine half of what it wants.

I'm hungry and all we're getting are nothingburgers
