A little side note: with other girls at church in dance, if the Rekietas weren't so awful and unfunnily WEIRD, they'd have had their driving crisis solved, at least for dance. The other girls are probably all in carpools, so that instead of going to the dance place 4-5x week, you pool with other families and each does like one drop off and one pickup for the group. This is what Lincoln Navigators are built for. And is usually a lifeline for dance parents.

I think it would have been one thing if he had told them immediately and worked with them/established some sort of timeline for how he was going to get back up to date, but the fact that he has just sort of passively let his license become invalid for such a long period of time kind of makes it a somewhat bigger deal and that's not even taking into account whatever trouble his felony conviction/non-conviction is going to give him in getting reinstated.
