It's called creative destruction in economics. The speech therapy was only expensive because of government manipulation of healthcare and enriched themselves on Medicaid always paying a high $ amount. Perhaps a new cheaper speech therapist can come in to take it's place.
This is what I thought too. It makes no sense for someone to shut down their practice because they're not getting enough Medicaid payouts, unless they were scamming the government. They can always take regular insurance and keep their practice going. It sounds like they were one of many, many fraudsters.
Does / did Dave have TDS? Like others have said, its the effects from drugs, alcohol, and the rock and roll lifestyle.
Dave was known has a hard drinker for a while. He got fired from Metallica for being too much of a drunk in their early stage. And Metallica had the nickname Alocholica back in the day. IIRC, Dave was known to be a mean drunk while Lars and James were more funny drunks. Those two drunk types don't match. Idk if Cliff drank.
I always thought he was conservative, but lots of conservatives have TDS so who knows. I so envied his hair back in the day, though. These old rockers are still stuck in their fem/androgynous hair band styles and it doesn't work once you hit a certain age cohort.
Kind of unrelated but there's a YouTube ad featuring Paul Rudd playing video games (also what is UP with all these celebrities shilling games lately? I understand the gambling ones but I'm supposed to believe Christina Aguilera is always playing some Farmville looking game all the time?) Anyway, I wasn't sure it was Paul because of his bob haircut. He now looks like your aunt Karen. I'm hoping it's for a role not a personal preference.
I heard that Trumps bill passed and the Republicans managed to sneak in a work requirement for medicaid which is basically a soft cut to medicaid. A nice way to cut medicaid without actually cutting medicaid. It takes people 6 momths to a year to find even low paying shitty jobs these days. If you manage to find a job you might make too much and won't qualify for mediciaid anyway.
The Republicans are heading towards a loss in the midterms as this rate. Fucking with people's bennies and wanting to ban porn nationally. This is why the Republicans lose. They can't stop fucking with poor people. They can't help it they have to shit on poor people. This also why the Democrats will never completely disappear as a party.
Republicans are over stretching just like the Dems did with all their BS.
The Dems should take the news about Medicaid and use it as much as they can. I am sure they will. There was always a good chance the Republicans would lose the house and or senate anyway given how normies usually vote. A Republican in the White House usually means the Democrats will gain control of the house and or senate. The same goes for Republicans. But this just raises that chance even higher. I imagine it will get worse when it goes into effect and starts impacting people. The emergency rooms will fill back up with uninsured people. It won't be pretty.
No, Medicaid is not for old people. They already have Medicare.
Old people get Medicaid if they outlive their money, no matter how much money they initially had. They have to declare that they're indigent and turn over any remaining assets to the government before they get it.
The idea of the work requirement is to combat fraud. It's also making them put skin in the game. This is what I voted for, because while I'm fine helping out people who legit can't work I am NOT okay with able bodied people stealing from me when they can go out and get a job. Dems have had decades to fix the fraud problem and all they do is squeal and whine that the Republicans are going to demolish Medicaid, so they have zero leg to stand on here.
ETA:
The Republicans just have to stop fucking with poor people.
This is an entitlement, poverty mindset. I, a citizen with a job who is a contributing member of society is supposed to give up some of my money from my hard work to people who are scamming the system. And why would those people ever want to go to work when they have no incentive to do so because I'm forced to give them my money? Again, I don't mind if people legit can't work. But it's disingenuous to say that every person getting Medicaid is getting it legitimately.
