Nope. I've spoken to many moms who did the math and found that when factoring in the cost of childcare it actually made more sense financially to stay at home. The money saved made it worth it, especially as it made it easier to cook at home which also saved money. In some cases the wife worked part time from home, but often did not even do that.

The Chinese navy is rocking 3 aircraft carriers which sounds pretty serious until you realize the US is rocking 11 (super)carriers all of which out tonnage the Chinese by 20-40 thousand tons each. The Chinese navy has a absolute fuckload of coastal/brown water boats but are sorely lacking in blue water capability and force projection.

Also a big factor in this is generational experience/institutional knowledge. We know how to run carriers efficiently, (mostly)safely, and at a much bigger scale than the Chinese. The American navy cut it's teeth in WW2 and continued to train and get into conflicts during/post cold war. The training videos that have come out of the PLAN are crazy to watch and something that would have a USN officer lose command and most likely be chaptered out too. We simply have been at this much longer and have put more resources into this game than the Chinese.
Also also, there is a cultural factor too, but more experienced racisms than me can get into the chink factor.
