I have always fucking hated sam harris. he's the worst kind of gen xer. I went through phases where i liked everyone in the intellectual dark web, and frankly i still like things about all of them, but this guy was the one exception.

His face is extremely punchable as you pointed out, but his angle on the world is just so obnoxiously "SCCCCIIIIIEEEEEEEEENCE!!!" i can't fucking stand it.
Oy vey goy, I totally didn't know Biden was a demented dying retard! Oy gehvalt, but what about Trump?

Sick of this shit, sick of him, sick of faggots like him.

What use is it even debating with someone if they aren't even in the same fucking reality as everyone else?

I guarantee you Sam Harris would say the exact same thing. He's got this idea that he's an enlightened meditator who's much more thoughtful and considerate than the rest of us. Sort of a spiritual Jew in that way, despite his atheism. The scowl that appears to now be stuck to his forehead just cracks me up. He looks like he's been heavily medicated for a long time. Nothing else fucks your face up like that.

I'm not convinced that this was anything more than a propaganda move. The fact is there's really nothing important freighters can be converted into military wise other than transports, which have their uses in war, but that can be said of any ship. Electronic survelliance and helicopter platforms maybe, but you only need so many of those.

They're not going to serve any combat roles unless you build the from the ground up for that purpose.
remember, freighters are container ships.

take a regular cargo ship, drop some missile launch kits disguised as normal containers, and you can easily bring warships to the ports of every major American costal city and level them before America knows it's under attack. You could put radar and antimissile kits on ships in the middle of the ocean to intercept any attack on China mainland.

But you can only do that once before countermeasures take place, so you have to really, really make it count and be prepared for what happens next.

ICYMI, Trump is rolling back a lot of the "disparate impact" bullshit which, among other things, kept ferals from being disciplined in school.

looked that up:

Don't mind me just archivefagging :)

Nothing about this works. Like at all. Stabilization, integrated high voltage power supply, heat resistant armor, comms, deck reinforcement, all things you need that container ships don't have. And again: You're better off just building a new ship at that point. Even Club-K kits had to be on stablized vessels.

YOu could build a missile ready ship and disguise it as a shipping vessel... but it won't have any signatures the way your former approach would and thus would be blown out of the water before getting within 100 miles of the coast.

"The only possible motivation to decisions that cause disparate outcomes is racism" is the most absurdly bullshit of the Race Marxist dogma and it should be called out whenever possible -- preferably with laws prohibiting it's use.

It was how the Soviet invasion of the USA started in the game World in Conflict. A bunch of container ships park themselves in Seattle Harbor and then all of a sudden there's Hinds flying around mowing down cop cars before anyone can react.

Great game, too. The multiplayer is probably dead (the game is nearly two decades old) but the campaigns were amazing as well.

The threat of this shit isn't that it works, the threat is that it just might work enough times and do just enough damage to do two things:
1) Force USN and USAF to waste time, manpower, ships and aircraft watching otherwise benign targets when they should be hunting PLAN and/or VRF vessels
2) Force the US to break its own code of global conduct and put civilian cargo ships back on the menu
2A) its kind of like guerrilla/insurgent warfare style of fighting, where not wearing uniforms incentivizes your enemy to be an asshole who shoots civilians
2B) the US presumably benefits more from the stability of global shipping than do Russia or China so suddenly everyone sinking everyone's cargo ships hurts the US more than it does its enemies

This and Universe at War were two of the last RTS games I remember before the genre died, they were both great.

I'll save it for the gaming threads but fuck me the late 2000s had such a mixed vibe of "things are getting really good" and "things are getting really shitty" and the shittiness won.

Where did you read this? It's the exact opposite except for russia.

Can that channel be objective if their whole gimmick is about how bad China is?
From what I've seen he's pretty nuanced and realistic about China at least, even considering that he (rightfully) hates the CCP and all of his videos are slanted against them. At the very least, he's more pragmatic than the Peter Zeihan-tier 'China's collapse is inevitable so you can keep managed declining right into the ground' stuff that makes up the other end of that spectrum.

Conservatives are not making it to the promised land with copes Iike this.

During a debate titled "One Christian vs. Twenty Atheists," Jordan Peterson was pressed to identify himself as a Christian but awkwardly refused. Video was later renamed Jordan Peterson vs. 20 Atheists.
