I used to be active on 419eater back in the day. I sure as hell don't remember him being there, unless he used a very different username and posting style. I also don't see him as imaginative enough to be a scambaiter.
ETA: Repentance explains it. He wasn't on the Eater itself, just a splinter site.

What seems to be missing here is any sort of apology or acknowledgement of wrongdoing. Tom comes across as a massive ass here, which to be fair is what he is. But you’d think he’d at least pretend some sort of humility. Fucking hell, even Chris-Chan knows to pretend to apologise.
Mind you, if his family have any sense, they’ll keep the kids far away from their “crazy old aunt,” the child-molesting gastropod that he is.
