Have You Ever Shoplifted?

I took way too many free samples from the supermarket when I was a kid. The hardass security guard was there instead of the regular guy. Come on. No one put 5 cents in that box. Although I may have been one of the reasons they took the candy carousel away. šŸ˜“

I was really poor though. It was bad. But I know that's not an excuse to steal. I would never do it today. I accidentally got some free items because they were under my reusable bags. I felt really bad. The Acme I go to has a security gate to get in and out of the store. The gate doesn't open until you scan your receipt. The baby formula is now behind the courtesy counter.

I worked in a grocery store before, and the amount of people that will ā€œforgetā€ things in their cart will shock you. I didn’t always check because it’s hard to see the bottom of their cart over the register. Also, my biggest pet peeve were people eating grapes and cherries in my line. Do I really give a shit you’re eating the grapes I have to weigh? No. But does it make me mad you have the audacity to do it in front of my face? Fuck yes. Fuck those people. At least have the decency to snack on your grapes before you get in line.

I'm sorry. I can't imagine eating that stuff without washing it. You don't know who has touched those grapes. I also hate it when people drink sodas and then put the empty bottle back on the shelf. People also do it with popsicles.

Shoplifting food for yourself should always be allowed.
That's what I did once when I got my first job and was waiting for my first paycheck to come in. I oppose shoplifting as a general rule, but at least I can say I shoplifted once and it was the ugliest piece of fruit you've ever seen.

For those saying it's about the cost of living, that only applies if you truly can't afford groceries and you're taking necessities like food, soap, and menstrual products. It does not apply if you're stealing luxuries, or if you can afford it but don't want to pay. If stores actually start losing money because of shoplifting, they'll just raise prices or move out of your area. If you manage to hurt anyone with your actions, it will either be yourself or your neighbors. Expected shrinkage, security costs, etc. are included in the retail price tag, so when you pay inflated prices for groceries, you're partly paying the bill for the people who steal those products.

And never steal from Target, even if it's just small potatoes. Those motherfuckers have literal forensic criminology centers that the FBI consults with when they need information. You don't fuck with the IRS and you don't fuck with Target loss prevention.

I bought someone's partially-consumed beverage by accident once. It was a bottle, so they had put the cap back on and put it back on the shelf.

People are fucking disgusting, I swear. They act like grocery stores are their personal fridge and just take whatever the hell they want, and fuck anyone else who buys their germ-stained leftovers.

I collect action figures and model kits so whenever I step in the aisle for them I also have to see what kinds of other toys they have. If you want to know which aisle has the most shit stolen it's the Kids Aisle. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Just little timmies told they couldn't have it and breaking a part something to get it. In fact I saw a LPS mystery box opened on them.

I don't think they actually check the kids aisles. Yeah sure lock up the deodorant and baby formula.

Yeah, you probably shouldn't shoplift, because it's a very niggardly thing to do, but I must confess that on more than a couple of occasions in the past, I have left a supermarket with a couple of items I 'forgot' I had in my bag, when I came to the self-checkout.

Ooh, here's a funny story - one time, I was exiting a store that I had shoplifted from and the alarm went off. I was kind of worried for a moment, but luckily for me, a black person was leaving the store at exactly the same time as I was, and so I got to witness racial profiling happen in real time as store security descended on the unfortune negro and I calmly and confidently made my escape across the carpark forecourt.

I used to, when I was younger. Its really stupid, never did get caught for it. I guess I realized that it would happen one day so I stopped. I still get the urge to this day, however I am able to get the same "high" from dumpster diving or finding deals at local thrift stores or garage sales. I guess I have nigger genes in me. The idea of getting stuff for free or cheap when you're not supposed to just feels really good.

It's almost never by people who are in actual needs of food, statistically speaking, but just by stupid, spoiled brats that are angry, lazy, apathetic, entitled, and overall scum.
If you watch police bodycam footage involving shoplifters, it's almost always people who are (financially, at least) middle class, but they're spoiled brats who don't think they should have to pay for anything in life, and are mad that they're being arrested for what they see as an inconsequential thing.

I watched one video where a single mother led the police on a high-speed car chase because she stole a bunch of random shit from Dick's Sporting Goods. When they finally caught her, she started yelling at them because she didn't think that they should be arresting her for "just stealing two bags" and was upset that they messed up her car. She then complained that she had to go to jail instead of being at home with her new baby. Cop told her she should have thought about that before she started stealing, called her a piece of shit, and slammed the door on her. It was glorious.

They can be chill. Once I forgot to take off my backpack before entering the bathroom hall to drink from a water fountain. The phone I just bought set off the scanners, and as I headed out a security girl half-heartedly approached me. I offered to show her the receipt and she waved me out. So it went well for me, but yeah be careful at Target.

Back when I was an annoying little shit, I'd save the boxes, packages, etc, of whatever me or my parents had bought. Would put some crap in there for weight, carefully seal them up, take them back to store and sneak them back on the shelf.
Not quite the same but during the coof I had a lot of fun with little pranks at the closest supermarket, one I did several times because I found it very funny was to go to the fisherman store, buy boxes of live crickets and set them loose in the supermarket
le funny noise everywhere

Funny about the middle class thing, some "lifters" had advised you'd dress like a Middle Class citizen so half of them are just LARPING as middle class or is probably poor.

In your case it's probably because you clearly weren't actually stealing, but in other cases it's because they're building a profile on you. It's well known at this point that Target lets you get away with a certain number of minor thefts so they can compile evidence and get all your information. I guess you could technically get away with stealing from there if it's only once or twice, but once is already enough for you to be in their system. They share information with other stores as well as with the police, so you're less likely to get away with stealing from other places if you've previously stolen from Target.

Dr Arinsu Funny about the middle class thing, some "lifters" had advised you'd dress like a Middle Class citizen so half of them are just LARPING as middle class or is probably poor.

If you can afford a new car, nice clothes, and to have your hair/nails professionally done, you're financially middle class. Obviously a lot of these people were raised poor and have the eternal poor person mindset of "gib free stuff," but they aren't so poor they can't afford groceries or clothing, therefore they aren't so poor they should be stealing. The only genuinely poor people I've seen in those videos are addicts stealing to support their addiction, which are another class of leeches.

shoplifting is gay and im not a fag

but i did shoplift inadvertently as a kid (put a thing in my pocket and forgot about it until i left the store) so i guess i was an unwittingly gay kid

All I can think of is how many shitty games you aquired. The gameboy had a good library, but most games weren't Link's Awakening or Pokemon Tier.
they kept the gameboy games in this huge box and we no shit had 300 something gameboy/color games between us by the end of it.

we ended up with basically every good game on the console. all your first party, Mario/Wario/Donkey Kong/Metroid II/PokƩmons/Zelda/Dragon Warrior/etc. but there's probably like 80 total games that make up that type of quality.

the rest are licensed dog dick. shit that shouldnt have had games like Wayne's World, Bill and Ted, Austin Powers (which disappointingly isn't even a game it's like a pda program for your gameboy), shitty superhero games like The Flash, Spider-Mans/Batman's, shitty bugs bunny and other cartoon games. Etc. every now and then you'd get a game that you'd imagine would suck and didn't, James Bond on gameboy is a surprisingly competent Zelda clone, Hamtaro is a pretty fun adventure game, but most of it is shit.

we spent an ungodly amount of time playing terrible garbage on the Super Gameboy and passing a gameboy color back and forth. I'm probably the most intimately familiar with the Gameboy library out of every system because of that period.

It’s been years but I used to shoplift constantly. Someone showed me a spot at a local grocery store where one could shove crap in their purse without the camera seeing. So I’d load my cart up with stuff like intended on paying for and shove the pricier stuff in my giant bag lol.

I also did a few cart runs. I did get caught once and stopped. Didn’t get arrested just told I couldn’t go back to that store.

I used to think shoplifting was something mostly black men did, but after reading this thread it's very clear black people just get caught more. I'm ashamed for all of you. You do realize that shoplifting causes stores to raise their prices, implement restrictions like needing an employee to unlock an item for you, or it could even cause stores to close down. I know none of you people are in desperate situations considering the fact the 2/3rds of America are overweight or obese.

Literally none of you people have a leg to stand on with shoplifting and your behavior only harms poor people who don't steal.

I had a shoplifting phase when I was a teenager. It was trivially easy, especially in mostly-abandoned department stores with one employee per floor. I don't think I paid for bras or jewelry for maybe a full year. I'm not proud of it and I stopped because I felt like I had pushed my luck enough.

I found a bunch of that jewelry in storage recently and good God did I have horrible taste back then.
