I frequent the Sims 4 community a lot (trying to get into the Sims 2) and I have serious black fatigue just in that area alone. I'm not even going to get into the whining and general ratchet behavior. How do those people even stand seeing those uncanny valley extreme-alpha sims next to the cartoonish Maxis NPCs/townies? The art style shift would bug me way too much. I play with a cartoon-ish Maxis-mix style and even then I'm considering deleting all my alpha hairs. Oh, and speaking of hairs...these people can't optimize texture file size for shit. It's an issue notorious for alpha CC in general, but it's absolutely ridiculous in the black creator space. I downloaded a few hairs by a CC creator named "Kikovanity" and they're all several dozen to almost
a hundred MB. I thought they'd contain like, well over a hundred swatches like what you'd see in Second Life conversions and I can just delete the many swatches that I don't want or use. But no, I looked in Sims 4 Studio, and it was only twenty. That means this bitch made every texture nearly 5 MB for a game that you spend the majority of the time zoomed out to overview lots and such. Oh, and it's stupidly high-poly as well. Yeah, fuck you too. But like I said, it's an issue with alpha CC in general. Here's another funny thing, Maxis-match is coming back in style, a bunch of alpha creators are making Maxis-match content to capitalize off of it. The kick is, these creators genuinely don't give a fuck or don't know that the main point of Maxis-match is to remain simple and optimized for game performance, so these retards are making relatively simple looking CC have the same stupidly high file texture sizes and poly counts just like their previous alpha work. But hey, their Blender renders look pretty, I guess.
The drama started when someone
shared a build for their bayou custom neighborhood Toadville, called Fitzwillwright Plantation, back in February. For context, Toadville is a town inspired by Louisiana, and that person being an history buff, it features some lots inspired by real landmarks.
These are the types of people that cheered when they tore down statues of America's founding fathers in New York and replaced them with fat Shaniquas. They want to discard history while simultaneously claiming to still suffer because of it. Their opinions don't matter in the slightest, and I hope that creator keeps making historical builds. The little Nessie addition is cute.
Someone sent this is a sims group I am in, first of all, some can't read, that it is a mod (not that I condone what EA is doing anyways) secondly, if you don't like it, don't download it or make a mod like this yourself.
It looks like literally any village in Africa and has African stuff in it.
"Make Africuh in the Sims! Muh repreezuntashun!"
"Okay, I made Africa in the Sims."
"NOOOOOOO NOT LIKE THAT!"
Were these people wanting Wakanda or some shit? You can't just say "Gib me Africuh" then get upset when you get a generic depiction of it. That's like requesting ice cream from the store, then getting pissed when getting plain vanilla because you didn't specify what flavor you wanted. But then again, if the mod creator based it off of a specific tribe, they'd be bullied for something else, like getting one small detail inaccurate, I guarantee it. Nothing is ever enough with these people. Don't even bother trying to appease them.
