To me, the thing about virtue signaling, and why it's so awful, is that they'll talk a big game, but wont step up. They're ALL talk and outrage. When it comes time to act, theyre all authoritarian and excuses. I mean, they dont really care. It's harsh of me to say, but this is drama, but it's not a big scandal, they dont care; it's he-said-she-said, so it's easy to brush under the rug. Even if its true and honest, they dont care unless it affects them and makes them look bad. You could be legitimately raped, and have proof, but if you cant do anything for them, if you arent important or big enough to make headlines, youre just another statistic to these guys. People buy into their act, but then are devastated when they find out that's just what it is.

I get why he does it though, because its basically what Im doing here. If I could earn 2700 dollars per video to make shit up, just speculate based on some hypotheses I have and a thesis based off of general ideas and pre-dispositions based on general life lessons and popular culture, I absolutely would. Id do anything to keep that money rolling in. So I guess I cant blame him, but he's still a scumbag.

They wear feminism as a badge: that they treat women as human beings and individual people, instead of being the straw man "alpha dude-bro jock" or incel, or whatever and that makes them 'one of the good ones' or a good man, a worthwhile man, shit like that. If you ask them to act on it, they fall apart because they aren't actually nice guys.

I've noticed this with other lolcows and lolcow types, that, whenever there's a 'scandal', a callout or if actually incriminating evidence is brought up against them, said thing will eventually fade into obscurity as they don't want their precious gem to be spoiled. It's left only being clinged to by the person's detractors (us, in this case, and maybe an Anti-SJeW here or there). Only a few times have scandals, callouts, and incriminating evidence actually worked against said lolcows, one such event infamously known as GamerGate.

The fact that the detractee is hbomberguy, a part of the SJeW community and someone who is lauded so much by said community increases the likeliness that this will be ignored by the masses.

Looks like you might be right. The accuser posted this last night and I get the feeling that they already understand how this is going to go. At the very least now we have evidence for when stuff about Paperlion/Ethan comes out, or if Hbomberguy messes up and lets their true colors out again. I hope that the person at least got paid for their work.

That article's just a snapshot of how awful he is. He compared GamerGaters to ISIS and was one of the people who lead the charge in declaring the Angry Video Game Nerd a sexist for saying he wouldn't be seeing the new Ghostbusters film. I know you shouldn't rejoice in other's misfortune, but I was so happy when he went down - especially since he fell victim to the very "listen and believe" mentality he helped push. This article does a very good job of documenting what a shitty person he really is. But because he's a woke feminist, there were a few people making the case for letting him off the hook

That's what gets me is how these guys manage to get into "feminist spaces," set up camp and then immediately do the very thing everyone is claiming to try to stop - and everybody lets them do it.
