imo i don't think this will work, or it will work just as a fanfic au. rugrats all growed up was a better premise and respected the character fundamentals and was still mostly shit, particularly since it appealed to an entirely different audience.
im not a mega king of the hill stan, but every single staggered episode i saw had a relationship between bobbie and connie. why the fuck is bobbie now with some rando bitch? a surprising amount of the series had side plots of bobbie bonding with connie, kiddie relationship drama, and hank and kahn going from something like homer and ned to something like friendly rivals. it was fully setup for bobbie and connie to get together and have culture clashes/understanding etc. they can challenge each other and grow from it. if you have to have politishit in the show they'd also make a great vehicle for conservative/liberal values clashing and melding, maybe you have connie learn rioting is retarded and bobbie make fun of andrew tate. have covid be a thing but be vastly overstated and not worth destroying small businesses and family events etc. make fun of "global warming will kill us all by (x *subject to change)." as was stated earlier, dale and nancy had their arc about fixing their shit and problems, having her just jump redcorn is dumb and lazy.
it seems like they explicitly just want nostalgia from the most casual audience possible that watched like 3 season 1 episodes and can go "haha yep shes still cheating on him" "oh wow i didnt know bobby liked anyone at all he has kid???" not respectful to long time viewers or plot development or actually exploring a continuation of koth. similar to the simpsons episodes "adult bart" etc shit where there's like 50 different versions done throughout the series and then they just stuck with making him a druggie that blames homer for everything.
i guess they just want a cash grab like fuller house instead of something like (forgive weeb reference easiest one i know of) naruto - naruto: shippuden where the characters age but everything still follows continuity closely. at best it's a collossal waste of potential and possible fan service/callbacks
