Research paper: Evil Autistic Master Plan For Academia: HCI Edition - It cites Kiwifarms

Gosh, this looks like money well spent. Do normal people in the EU ever speak up and ask why their shekels are funding this nonsense? Demand an audit!

This paper was presented in the alt CHI category, which is the "throw your weird/joke/avant-garde/tongue-in-cheek/political shit here guys" category of the convention.
alt.chi is a forum for controversial, risk-taking, and boundary-pushing research at CHI. The CHI program committee formed alt.chi to act as a forum for innovative and insightful work that can go unrecognized through the standard review process. alt.chi is appropriate for submissions that prove difficult to assess through the main Papers track, whether for reasons of methodology, style or content. alt.chi hosts some of the most audacious and insightful presentations at the conference. This is the avant-garde of CHI. We invite the submission of bold, compelling, critical, and innovative works that challenge or re-imagine human-computer interaction research and design.
You can see other alt CHI submissions for that year here. Not the first time I've seen it an a symposium but this particularly seems uncool because it takes itself too seriously.

I just find it funny as to how the research reports I wrote in high school are better than this, and also were not funded by a representative body of a conglomerate of nations. If you recorded yourself reading this off a long with an intro and outro involving library music or breakcore, it would be one of the worse breadtube video essays of all time.

Welp, just Euro things I guess. Good thing Blumpf got rid of all those shitty Uni grants. Suffa!

In many places in Europe it is literally illegal to ask why their shekels are funding liberal nonsense. It's considered a hate crime to notice and then say things you've noticed.

I’ve always been bothered by this claim that we engage in and facilitate mob harassment.

People put themselves on the internet with the understanding that their behaviour and their actions are done within a public space. As a consequence of that, it’s subject the onlookers and whatever their opinions may be about it. If your actions are particularly fucking moronic, I don’t know why you’d expect anything other than ridicule and particularly if those actions negatively impact others, themselves, children or animals.

The Internet is not a safe place for you to be free from the opinions of others. We discuss those opinions within an extremely small, segregated portion of the Internet that you can completely ignore and is not in the least bit directed towards you. We have rules against engaging with these people, most of us take that rule pretty seriously because if it’s found out we did interact with them, we receive site-wide ridicule among our own community members and staff.

People say mean shit about others all the fucking
time in every Reddit post and Xitter post possible. It is not specific to this website. Stop being a bitch about it.

Everyone in this thread is getting the labels backward. According to the author, Kiwi Farms are the "good" autists who have internalized ableism and take it out on "evil" autists who don't fit into society. For once, the leftist academic is admitting their evilness.
Taking ^ this into account, everyone celebrating their own "evil autism" is a candidate for the author's embrace.

Fun fact, autists by their nature overlap heavily with the dark triad. No one wants to talk about it, though, because you can't possibly say the people who have almost no empathy and are extremely self-centered are the same as other people who have almost no empathy and are extremely self-centered. Then we all have to pretend to be shocked when they do something horrific, like Chris-chan fucking his mom.
This ^ makes sense in the context of the OP.

Ideological zealots will never see things rationally, but I think a lot of these academics are people who are many steps removed from keffals. People who are so out of the loop on clown world that they genuinely just want to know where this mentality is coming from and what people here think.
This ^ is probably the crux: Dunning–Kruger effect on the part of the author.

It's a problem that they don't want to talk about because it goes against what they've been telling people for years; ie that autistic people are just harmless, overly-empathetic weirdos, and that there's nothing wrong with the sudden massive uptick in how many there are now.

What do you think is gonna happen when eventually people realize that's not true, and now a sizable amount of the population is comprised of genuinely mentally retarded sociopaths, and a good lot of them are actually now in control due to how many of them are in the tech industry?

Spoiler Alert: It's not gonna be pretty.

Also, side note, but have you noticed how the majority of mass-shooters nowadays have all been autistic? I wonder why that is. Surely, it's just a coincidence, though.
Same good catch as @Disgruntled Pupper ^

Might have missed if someone already pointed this out, but it's extremely ironic that /r/evilautism is an active community over on reddit right now and it's 100% faggy antisocial leftists taking pride in lashing out autistically at anyone they don't like. So basically the exact opposite of what this paper is suggesting. But what else is new. Leftists scapegoating literally anyone who doesn't bend the knee in full.
If the highlighted quote I pasted at the top is correct, it is not the opposite. They are reveling, whether ironically or not, in being the actual "evil autists."

Their argument is flawed. Autism is a healing mechanism for broken societies where sociability reinforces the very problems bringing down society. Autistic people have to work within the system and be useful so that they can do the changes that will help heal the world. Getting people to hate autistic people even more isn't the solution.

I think the point is, ironically, eugenics. No matter how much academia acts like it cares about different groups of people, the one thing it will never ever do is tell those people to reproduce. It'll tell them to sterilize themselves or even fight for legal suicide but it'll never tell them to have kids and be good parents. And the autists who are part of academia never speak out about that.

That dangerhair hackademic really did do a number on the EU funder. Even AI bilge would be better, but I suppose five Dollars / Euros is five Dollars / Euros for the academic and some bureaucrat has ticked a box somewhere on some report. The world is in balance or something.

Plenty of academic research papers have been published and quite a few pulled for various reasons.

But I do have to laugh at "facilitating mob harassment" because what....? in what way?

They believe it to absolutely necessary because the premise of so much modern First World academia is that everyone else is the ones who doesn't understand, which ironically is very autistic. This paper reeks of ivory tower paranoia and is encouraging other autists essentially into being unreasonable about the very system and power structures that provide the transactional tolerance that would allow a person like this to get to write this drivel at all. It's all the same mindset of thinking that everyone else has to do better and enlighten themselves.

But I do have to laugh at "facilitating mob harassment" because what....? in what way?
Because Chris-Chan raping his octogenarian mother was our fault apparently. Like with #dropkiwifarms, if you get made fun of on the Internet, you can commit all sorts of crimes and it's fine.

When people see the term "research paper", especially coming from the EU, they tend to have this ingrained idea that the people writing such papers are smart, educated, even going so far as to be scientific and highly valuable to society.

People need to stop thinking this way. This drivel was written by a developmentally stunted nepo baby who has likely spent their last 4 years in education doing nothing but reposting smut on Tumblr.

And I assure you, the EU funds this sort of waste of space very often. You have to think from the authors perspectives, who they have likely never had to struggle in life, they come from an extremely privileged and worry free upbringing, they have NEVER been told NO...
And now some greasy old germans want to hear the fresh youth perspective on pressing issues and fund a new generation of big thinkers!

As such, they have likely come to the following conclusion.
"Holy shit we can write whatever we want nobody is going to read it but we're literally being given free money to sit our asses in beanbags and crochet and write a funny sketch for youtube while pretending to contribute to research. Let's to a hecking takedown on those darn dirty kiwifarms trolls!"
