thats kind of what im asking.
like we know he's being "monitored" but thats the probation office or whatever, i didn't think he was doing that at outpatient treatment.
because with that stuff he wouldnt need appointments to do it, he'd just do it when he was there

It means he's a fucking idiot, and a textbook example of a Dry Drunk. Recovery isn't something you complete, it's a lifelong journey. There's no such thing as a 'Recovered' addict. There are only 'Recovering' addicts, and dipshits who are going to fall right back into old patterns and burn down their lives yet again. Not shilling for AA or any other particular recovery program, they don't work for everyone, but whatever rackets is doing, it's not going to work.

He didn't go to rehab. He went to drug and alcohol counseling and snubbed his nose at addicts.

He has not hit his rock bottom and will not fix his life until he does so. He would need to lose his kids/inheritance for him to learn the error of his ways.

He looks at his drug abuse wistfully and still thinks drugs are cool like an addict.

Abuses other substances to get around actually confronting sobriety and the hole that makes him do drugs.

Blames other for his problems.

He thinks he's "beaten" addiction by replacing his substances with other substances that are equally as harmful but don't show up on piss tests.
