Maddox / George Ouzounian / George Schnoz - OG Internet blogger, Author of the NYT bestseller Alphabet of Manliness, Cohost of the Biggest Problem in the Universe, Filer of the Lolsuit. MADDOX BLAST!

I remember an episode of the Dick Show a while back where Dick comments on how proud Maddox is of his programming skills and how useful they were in propping up the biggest problem website, but the reality was that Maddox's skills were clearly 20 years out of date and not much more than amateur even when they were current and that Dick had to basically clean up after Maddox's code all the time. Combined with how proud Maddox still is of writing 2,000 lines of code for his little chat/multimedia sharing program when writing his book - which is both not much code at all, and also seemingly unnecessary because there were chat/email programs that allowed for sharing of multimedia files to be found easily in the mid 2000's - I'm guessing the answer is that no, he doesn't really have any marketable skills. His only marketable possession is the Maddox brand and he's spent several years pissing that into the gutter.

Do we know how much money he makes? His Patreon is pretty dismal, but I guess he makes more from advertising revenue now he's gone back on his old principles.

Someone on the Dick Show reddit posted it a few weeks ago and I'm too lazy to find it at the moment, but at that time the numbers were something like $19,000 a month for Dick and around $300 a month for Maddox. And Madcucks was at about $360 or so a month. The guy whose sole claim to fame is putting on a paper crown from Burger King and mocking Maddox's idiocy is now making more money per month than the guy he's mocking.

I think Infinity Next was close to 80,000 lines of code. He has a footer on his site that leads to this page:
http://maddox.xmission.com/maddox.vim

So I don't think it has any sort of CMS. It's just some shit.
It just seemed so odd that he honestly believed his production was high-quality. It's like he thinks whatever trivial output he's capable of making must be the greatest that anyone could do and that if he hasn't done something yet, it must be easy. Someone brought up earlier in the thread his predator costume that was just a few rubber hoses taped to a headband. He just wore like a normal white tee shirt with it too. And he was going to a con where there were probably people that had actually good predator costumes, but his brain doesn't seem to make that connection.

Which episode was that?

Despite the fact his ad-free claim is a falsehood, he hasn't posted an article to his website in years and it now only exists to promote his infrequent youtube videos, which are full of ads.

Yeah, it made sense when he lived in Utah, had a decent job and made money selling merchandise, since ads can lead to self-censorship. But as you point out, he does put ads on his website, all his articles are just postings for his videos which are ad-laden. I remember way back in the day, 2004 maybe, that he put ads on some of his smaller sites, like "Saddest Caveman" as an "experiment". I don't know why he doesn't just put ads now on his site proper, since they're on all his actual content. I have to assume he has nothing to lose since he's now totally broke, just struggling to pay for groceries apparently. Though I have to wonder how the fuck he manages to pay for his website then

Also, I'm out of the loop of most of this drama. Is it true Dick dated an ex of Maddox's, and Maddox stalked her and was butthurt as a result?

I'm still kind of blown away by the 4-page screed he made on Somethingawful about the evils of using your website to make money, and his apparent belief that no one else understood Lowtax was making money from all that tenbux until he blew the lid on it. I know it was ten years ago but given how proud he still is of his website being ad-free I assume he's still hypocritical about his own money-making attempts.

I remember this, it was pretty glorious. Lowtax's response was basically "uh...yeah I make money off of this. Why don't you?" and Maddox kept trying to convince SA it was bad and all of us accepted the fact that Lowtax lived off of SA money years earlier and didn't give a fuck.

Edit: iirc I remember this virtually coming out of nowhere too. I think some goons might have been shitting on Maddox because that's what they do, but Lowtax didn't pick a fight with Maddox as far as I can remember. Maddox was the one that came charging in and being a dick to Lowtax for no real reason.

Recap based on all we know thus far:
  • Maddox has this weird polyamory obsession where he tries to maintain a harem of ex-gfs and get them to befriend each other
  • Dick, Maddox, Maddox's current gf, and one of Maddox's ex-gf from several years before attended the same wedding
  • Dick left the wedding with the ex-gf, and Maddox went ballistic, immediately texting the ex and worrying about where she was, basically saying he felt she wasn't safe if she was with Dick. She got creeped out and tried to brush it off.
  • Couple days later, Maddox calls the ex while she is at work. A hysterical and emotional wreck, he begs the ex to confirm that she didn't sleep with Dick after the wedding and that there is nothing more going on between her and Dick. Again, she brushes him off and tries to say what she can to calm him down because he sounds seriously disturbed. Btw, all her coworkers are listening to Maddox's pathetic appeals because the ex put it on speakerphone in the middle of the break room.
  • Not long afterwards, Maddox angrily interrogates Dick about what happened the night of the wedding. To defuse the situation, Dick lies about it and says he just took the ex home and that was the end of their contact. Maddox eagerly accepts the explanation with relief, and he is very glad to hear that Dick did not sleep with the ex. He says if Dick had slept with the ex, it would have been a massive betrayal of Maddox's trust and undermined their professional and personal relationships.
  • Without Maddox knowing, Dick starts going steady with the ex-gf
  • After several months, Maddox finally discovers via some third party informants that Dick has been going out with ex-gf all this time. He literally breaks down into tears over this revelation in front of grown men and refuses to work with Dick ever again, thus ending the BPITU podcast.

O...k? I assume this was to keep them on the side and so he could fuck them without any retaliation? Or is it something even weirder?

Where was all this revealed? This is really pathetic, on Maddox's part.

After several months, Maddox finally discovers via some third party informants that Dick has been going out with ex-gf all this time. He literally breaks down into tears over this revelation in front of grown men and refuses to work with Dick ever again, thus ending the BPITU podcast.

That's why it ended? Lol is all I can say

That's the harem part of his plan, keeping a permanent stable of seemingly available partners at his beck and call. The polyamory part of his plan is that he was trying to get a little threesome action going on with his current gf + whatever ex's he could snag, which is why he has this weird thing where he introduces his current/ex-gfs to each other and tries to encourage friendships among them.

The ex has never publicly spoken about her side of the story, but she has recounted it to Dick, who shared all the details in episodes of his podcast.

Pretty much. More detailed explanation is that upon discovering Dick was going steady with the ex for many months, Maddox gave Dick an ultimatum: either Dick leaves the BPITU podcast of his own accord or the two of them discontinue the podcast entirely. Either way, Maddox didn't want to work with Dick ever again. Dick really hated to fuck over the fans and end the show over Maddox's psycho cuckoldry complex, so Dick made a counter-offer and asked Maddox to buy him out (ie, Dick leaves the podcast in exchange for a severance payment, and Maddox could continue the podcast solo or find a new co-host or whatever). Maddox wouldn't take Dick up on the buyout offer, so the only remaining option Maddox had given Dick was to end the podcast entirely. You can argue that Dick could have left the podcast without any payment, but after so many years of invested time, effort, and money, the podcast was as much Dick's labor of love as it was Maddox's, and Dick really should have been entitled to some kind of compensation if he was to turn his back on all that he had built.

Whoa, I never heard that part!

This is a good reminder that not all nice guys are virgins or inexperienced with relationships. If Maddox is hounding his ex's, pestering them to be "friends" with his current gf, demands to know their current sexual/romantic behavior, that tells me he honestly seems to believe that he owns them and is entitled to their loyalty/china. Furthermore, Maddox has on many occasions badmouthed Dick as some kind of scumbag and apparently wouldn't even let him talk to the biggest problem's female guests unsupervised, but meanwhile he was hitting on them constantly himself and is incredibly controlling and manipulative toward every woman he interacts with while Dick is the one who treats women like people.

It is incredibly telling that every single time Maddox or one of his allies try to badmouth Dick, they will never, ever give specifics. It's always "I'm taking the high road" or "I'm forbidden to give details but trust me" but really, we know the truth is "I have nothing to say because I don't want known the bad things I do to women, but seriously you guys should all hate him and trust me because then I get to keep breaking the nice guy rules I want to use to keep other men out of my way". Maddox clearly has a lot of that nice guy entitlement going on.

I don't want to think of Maddox having sex, but I have to imagine this didn't work, given what you've told me. Dick revealed all of this? So Maddox just openly blurts about his fantasies to his associates? Though this puts his "satirical" misogyny rants in context, like how his "satirical" pro child beating articles ended up just being slight exaggerations of his actual views.

Beyond being amazingly petty and possessive (ironic given his "good guy badge" behavior as of late), this is pretty funny in that Maddox destroyed his one cash cow left. I have to imagine that Maddox thought he was the draw and the money maker, so all of this must be some rude awakening for him. I don't listen to Dick but last time I checked, his show was doing well. Maddox's podcast can't even get over 500 bucks on Patreon.

He sounds like Chris-Chan in a way

I think it's more that Maddox thinks he's subtle and clever, but his intentions blare like a trumpet to any nearby observer with half a brain. The guy really does not appear to have any self-awareness and your Chris comparison is apt because we all know what it looks like when a guy honestly believes he's smarter than everyone else and never even questions it.

He's sounding like the creep he played in Ooga Booga.
