This is the one part of your post I respectfully disagree with. Nick isn't anywhere near as smart as he thinks he is.
His interactions with police on the day of his arrest prove this (i.e. the fact that he interacted with them at all).

The legal community is a pack of blue bloods who believe everyone else is beneath them (no offense @AnOminous). They rely on high-falutin' credentials and jargon to put themselves on a pedestal above the laymen.

The law is hard for the everyman to understand, and that's just the way they like it. Nick is not alone in his belief that he can pilpul his way out of anything by saying the magic words; he's just lulzily bad at it.

Any linguist worth their salt will tell you that most concepts in law aren't super complicated, it's that lawyers suck at writing, and it's intentional.

I have a fairly good handle on who attends Evangelical Covenant Church of New London, Nick and Kayla's ORIGINAL church that the kids seem to still attend with their grandparents.

It's a fairly small and humble church. I've never seen Sheriff Eric Tollefson or Kristen Pierce mentioned or featured in the many bulletins and pics.

All I can say is that Nick has been taking his Adderall in the morning on streams. He's been very open about this fact. He tends to start the streams acting very groggy, takes his meds around 30-60 minutes later, and then revs up about an hour after that.

I am not a doctor, but he's always seemed to have signs of ADHD to me.

I think they're playing a strictly risk-assessment view. Nick is an addict, who was armed with semiautomatic weapons, who is combative with authorities, who has a narcissistic ego complex, who appeared to be distributing drugs, and who seems to have nothing left to lose, and he has a kill list. No one wants that murder-suicide tragedy in their little town. Why tempt fate over a bodycam video?

Nick does not have ADHD, he's just an uninhibited spastic who was over indulged by his parents, seen it way too many times. The reason ADHD is so over diagnosed is because it became the go to diagnosis for bad parents during the 80s, 90s & early 2000's due to how easy the symptoms are to fake. I'd say 90% of people diagnosed these days don't actually have it which is why abuse of Adderall & other ADHD medications is so common. I doubt Nick has ODD either, his behaviour is all just that of a person who was never beaten enough as child. The fact he has 2 degrees (one of them in law), the first of which he got in a normal timeframe (18-21), whilst supposedly having undiagnosed ADHD, would also put the lie to this, actual ADHD people are incredibly bad at academia, even when properly medicated.

This level of Cope from Nick is unbelievable, I'm actually seething. I haven't really followed the Rekieta stuff until recently but fuck man reading that transcript made me so angry. He should be thrown in prison with the key to the cell either thrown away or melted down. My Dad was an addict and fucked our family up by abusing pills, research chems, and crack, but at least he wasn't this bad. At least we had a clean home, and he wasn't getting me to do drugs at 9 years old, and didn't have them laying around everywhere in places children could easily reach. Like why was the bag of coke sticking halfway out of the safe? I feel horrible and am praying for the children, hoping that this doesn't completely fuck them up mentally for the rest of their lives.
