There are plenty of actually affordable 9mm carbines out there that can handle higher pressure rounds that are comparable price, or perhaps a bit more, that you should use if you want to dick around. a Star Firestar is a nice nightstand gun for me when i go traveling. inexpensive enough to not worry about it if lost or confiscated, but 6 rounds of concealable .45 is great for my purposes. and between it and a Kahr PM9, i opt for the Star most of the time.

It's expensive ammo. Sell it? Get a gun that won't eventually fail using it? Underwood makes good stuff, in my experience it chronos very consistently. I've run 9mm underwood +P+ in all of my compact and larger 9mm carry guns since I found out about it.
