It's far from new, I've had this happen years ago. I'm pretty sure I tried bringing it up on /adv/ in response to someone, could be wrong but it definitely wasn't /b/ or /pol/ since I've never posted on those and definitely wasn't my own new thread. So it's probably a global ban. Instead of displaying any indication my post simply did not show up but worked instantly when I typed it as easypeasymethod dot org. I can't remember if jannies ended up removing the post manually or not but I don't remember catching a ban for it and at the time I thought it was just a poorly implemented and inconsistent ban on posting urls that aren't well-known rather than targeting that specific site.

There are two other times I recall posts disappearing quietly without any upfront ban or warning. One was that there was a persistent ban evader and simply replying to him would get your post removed regardless of whether his or your posts were on-topic, which was annoying because sometimes you'd have no way of knowing it was him if he made a simple on-topic post without identifying himself. I did get a warning once for "off-topic" despite both posts being on-topic, which I assume was for talking to him. The other was something transphobic which I don't remember but the post quietly vanished. It certainly wasn't anything violent or vulgar, just critical.

/adv/ has always been a shithole. It's the same thing "Why does no one date me" and when given actual advice they freak out. I always felt the ask the opposite gender generals are full of grooming from troons as well. Gave advice there once to a "How do I get aa girlfriend" thread, and the OP got mad at me because I said it wasn't his looks, and all he needed to do for looks was wash his hair (it was greasy), and shave a bit more.

No, I'm not a pathetic man desperate for a modicum of power just so I don't feel like human garbage. Nor do I feel the need to have power so I can indulge in my sadism by randomly abusing my users. Much less would I be willing to dox myself and let some canadian streetshitter store my private information on a server that hasn't been updated in 10 years. just so I could have power.
Mods on 4chan, especially the few that didn't jump ship after the hack, are lower than dirt. I would gladly stop all government handouts for a year just to starve all the jannies.

Very true. The answer to most of the posts is "because you spend your time posting and consuming lust-inducing bait on 4chan.org/adv and it's making you delusional". Or "you're clearly underage, literally just turn off the computer and go do your quadratics homework".

The atoga general had several namefag cows, I forgot his name but the main one was this one guy who constantly ban evaded and was obsessed with a female namefag called SweetNLow, who actually rarely posted, so it was just him yearning loudly to the void. He was the one where if you replied to any of his posts, even innocuous ones, you'd get in trouble by association. I'm pretty sure he also avatarfagged with this character who looked like Richie Rich.

It was also bizarre in that it was kind of functionally a chatroom and not really a q&a thread a lot of the time, since people would regularly come in to blogpost just with "either gender, what do you think about this:" slapped at the start. Admittedly it was sometimes chill although often derailed by coomers or baiters. I also do not understand people who would just simply enter to whine about the presence of (alleged) women replying to posts asking for women's input when they have the rest of the board and site to be their womanposter-free safe space. I suppose an insatiable urge to burst into female containment zones is just a hallmark of the incel to troon pipeline.

I must've been a masochist because I used to try to reason with people on that board and actually offer advice when of course the majority of them did not actually want to listen to advice and just wanted to jerk each other off about how if you're 5'11.9999999" then your life is over. The most memorable experience I've had is a guy who was acutely suicidal and crying about how he's gonna do it soon but ended up actually listening to what I was telling him, gradually doing a 180 and eventually telling me that he was feeling way better and is going to work hard towards applying himself since he's hopeful that he can achieve his dreams even if it's going to be challenging. Unlike many others, his goals were fairly modest and respectable. Hope he's doing well, he seemed like he was decently sensible, just going through a rough spot.

Probably forgot to auto-update their server's TLS certificate, or something like that.

On another note, I find it disgusting they rely on cloudflare. Tells everything you need to know about the staff's competence and level of care.

edit: No, I don't think it's the certificate because it was up for few minutes after I made this post. I think their server is crashing for some reason.

I didn't browse /adv/ or care about women browsing 4chan, but I always found it a bit weird. Why would a woman go to a site that is full of guy things. Porn, seething at women, guys talking about guy stuff with other guys.

I think your previous PFP was better. Looked like a 60s album cover. This one looks like a 2000s 1 man band album cover made in MS paint

I think it should be pretty clear to everyone that the 4chan staff hasn't cared about their website or community for the last decade since moot sold it.
