Apologies if I'm beating a dead horse here (there's already a few threads about YouTubers/YouTube trends us Kiwis can't stand), but I'm wondering what are some youtubers, many of whom are pretty popular at the moment, just really get under your skin for whatever reason. I personally have quite a few.

-Anybody who uses "goofy aah" (I hate even having to type out that phrase) style humor and editing (TommyNFG, Justmehabibi, Degenerocity, Kwite, etc.) Mainly because I can't stand listening to some retarded zoomer screaming into his microphone (which half the time it's intentionally poor quality because these losers think that it's the pinnacle of comedy) and constantly acting like they're God's gift to mankind. Anytime I happen across one of these obnoxious idiots, their channel goes straight into "do not recommend", no exceptions.

-Alan Fisher, Not Just Bikes, and any of the other "New Urbanism"-adjacent channels. I hate being told that wanting to own my own house and live in a nice neighborhood makes me a heckin' evil white supremacist or whatever other crackpot BS they constantly spew out. There's a Community Watch thread on them for a reason

-D'Angelo Wallace, F.D. Signifier, EthanIsOnline. There's only so much of moralfagging leftists screeching about "EVUL AMERIKKKA BAD" that I can stomach.

-On a similar note, pretty much any and all BreadTubers (Vaush, Big Joel, Demon Mama, PuppyhelicTriangle, Xanderthal, and EssenceofThought being the worst offenders for me. Especially when you factor in Demon Mama, Vaush, and PuppyhelicTriangle being unrepentant pedophiles.)

-A good portion of slop commentary YouTubers (Pyrocynical in particular, and you probably know the reason why)

Very niche but I was trying to see if any black content creators had done an analysis for the film Django Unchained and I only found white creators talking about the film. I'm white--I don't care what a white movie critic thinks about a blaxploitation western film. I'm wanting to know what a black person thinks because the film is about them and I'm not black. Yeah I know me saying that sounds gay and woke but I like learning about other perspectives. That way I can take what someone else thinks and compare it to my own opinion.

Self censoring any words even vaguely/potentially controversial like PDF file or unalived etc. I get that content creators* have to skirt some things nowadays because of retarded advertisers/TOS, but just use classic beeps, stop talking like little baby children. If this is a true crime video about rape murder and suicide, cutesefying all the bad no no words is just 1000% off-putting and makes you sound like a fucking retard.

It's funny you bring this up. I found out like a year ago that YouTube has a program or policy internally that they want to push/elevate black creators.

I noticed that black people are greatly represented in the videos that are recommended to me. It's maybe 50% just black people coming through the feed, despite them being a relatively small share of the national and global population.

Is Daym Drops the best food reviewer on YouTube? No, but YouTube treats him like it. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Part of my own form of black fatigue is being sick of how many powers that be want me to listen to black people. Whether they're spokesmen in tv commercials, or YouTubers pushed by an algorithm. I feel like I just can't get away from black people in media.

Edit to add: I looked up from posting this. I have the evening news on, muted. On the TV is a black woman with a lazy eye telling me about text and email scams. According to her....they're common. So there you go.

All of them. Of course there's a handful that are still fine but I couldn't stand what all the algorithm nonsense did to the site as almost nothing feels even a little genuine anymore. The majority of the videos that were recommended to me were either very short or 20+ minutes video essays. Kind of reiterating what's already been said but the video essays pissed me off the most because they most clearly illustrated the effects of the algorithm bullshit: the sponsors that take over 2 minutes, the phrase "content creator", inserting retarded political narratives that have no business being in the video, wasting time talking about viewer analytics as if it's going to make me subscribe, etc.
