Tax evasion is a crime (Income Tax Act) in Canada, and who the fuck knows what's a crime in Kuwait (apparently picking up trash and being kind to animals seem illegal).

I honestly don't know if setting your YouTube to pay into your fake husband's bank account in Kuwait rises to the level of ~~tax evasion.~~ Does she have secret Kuwaiti bank accounts? I doubt it, considering she's on a tourist visa.

If the CRA determines she owes them money from her YouTube earnings, they'll just add it to the pile she already owes. I also don't think being a deadbeat who owes a lot in back taxes is the same as tax evasion. It's just owing taxes.

True. People in this thread don't seem to understand that the CRA/Canadian tax law and the IRS/American tax law are completely different. IIRC Canada doesn't criminalize failing to pay taxes as long as the person doesn't file a false return, or make some other pro-active attempt to defraud the government.

The US is different, and the IRS has powers the CRA doesn't have. In Canada, you can even declare bankruptcy to get out of the kind of tax debt that would haunt you to the grave in the USA. The IRS would hang you from the ceiling by your balls.

Also, people seem to not understand that in most most countries, civil law and criminal law are completely different. You don't go to jail for failing to pay random debts in most (but not all) countries. You don't go to jail in the US because you defaulted on your car and it got repo'd.

In Kuwait, you can be jailed for getting too far behind on an electric bill. Creditors who want to sue you can get your passport blocked so you can't escape the country. Not true in Canada or the USA. Western world civil debt and fines are (generally) a different level of risk than in stricter non-Western cultures. The exception in the US is child support debt, and that's a whole different rabbit hole because involves state governments.

This is one of the only areas in which I wish we were more like the US of A)...did I dream this, or was there some video posted a year or two ago where she had tray after tray of marigolds in her apartment?

I swear to god, this situation just flared up, suddenly died out, and was never spoken of again. Is it something I hallucinated? Does anyone else share this memory? Yes, she had them. They were going to be her diabetes cure. She was going to make them into tea and fix all her problems. With marigolds.

Don't forget, she also flooded a room by breaking the air conditioner because she kept it on full blast without ever leaving the room (except to go to 7-11 or pick up delivery in the lobby) and had to be moved to a new room. She also wouldn't let the cleaning crew in and when she did, she wouldn't leave to let them clean. She had several notes slipped under the door, by her own admission. I don't think that hotel would take her again and has probably spread the word to their friends in other hotels to watch out for the fat, smelly, waddling white woman in a hijab.

Let's not forget the cherry on top of the Thailand Beeze Sundae- Chantal, by her own admission, not only had a diarrhea episode in the bed on her final night there, she left the shitty bedding as-is for the housekeeping staff to deal with.

I can see the hotel allowing her as a return guest after the air conditioner flooding incident, refusing to allow cleaners into the room, allowing food garbage to pile up all over the room and having to demand that she take her trash out to the chute daily, constant, multipe daily food deliveries to the lobby at all hours, the noise of her being up livestreaming in the middle of the night, the unreported broken sofa, etc. Even the dozens of phone calls and emails the hotel must have received warning them about her noterity. But muddy shit sheets left on the bed on check-out day has to be the straw that broke the camel's back and got her blackballed permanently.
