Coming from someone that has known people who have been on parole in a bigger metro area, parole officers are pretty hands off outside of their scheduled meetings and check-ups with their parolee and the minimum required "unscheduled" calls or visits. I doubt that most parole officers are taking time out of their day to investigate online on what their parolee is doing unless they've had some external source contact them about their parolee (or they think their parolee is up to something from their direct interactions with them).

Now this is more of a rural area and they're probably not overworked like a parole officer in the Twin Cities might be, then maybe they'll be more proactive.

So, very rough math, but 805 probation/parolees divided by 17 POs means each PO monitors around 47 people.

That's a bit under much of the state, but when I posted this on the legal thread, someone wisely pointed out that in rural districts, driving time may be part of the equation for funding. A PO in Minneapolis can probably knock on 8 doors within 10 blocks. That's a lot harder in Kandiyohi.

Given the disarray the house appeared to be in at the time, conducting a thorough search would likely have taken days.

That said, I have a strong suspicion that Aaron may have informed the police about where Rekieta had hidden his drugs. That’s probably one of several reasons why Rekieta harbors such resentment toward him — not to mention his apparent inability to handle rejection from a former romantic partner.

The drugs weren't hidden. They were on his bedside table and then the little thing in the bathroom that had drug bags sticking out of it.
It wasn't like an extensive search to find this stuff, they saw it directly when they walked in the house since the bedroom is right there
