The one extremely sketchy one I see is when they got called out allegedly because Rick had shot Niki, and then despite the fact Niki came out, obviously fucking alive, pretty much proving the call bogus, they yet again insisted on a search.

If true, and it's at least partly based on the admissions, this falls rather short of objectively reasonable.

Also the Count F thing with Evans looks pretty shit, especially since even the other officer was critical of his behavior.

Hate to say it and not to Rickguard in any way, but cops shouldn't act like this and even if Rick somehow gets a summary judgment or even a fat settlement out of this, there will be benefit to society from telling cops they can't just robotically respond to swat calls by kicking down doors and acting like Rambo, even if the target was an absolutely insufferable pig.

I dunno bros, from taking a ten-minute express flight through that Joint Statement of Facts, it reads like a good deal of effort was made on the part of the cops (and the dispatchers) to keep themselves informed of the unusual circumstances surrounding the Hovel.

And remember, it's a joint statement of facts. This is what the parties agree on. It's based partly on things actually admitted in the answer and other statements and exhibits it looks like we won't see.

Helwer responded, “We know. We know.” Id. at 05:02–05:10. Robinson told the officers
that nothing was going on, and Rupnick told her, “We have to check it.” Ex. T (Terriquez
BWC) at 07:10–07:20. Rupnick and Helwer then entered the home and searched it, while
Terriquez spoke with Robinson further. Id. at 07:20–07:50. As they were entering,
Warwick approached, introduced himself to Robinson, and then also entered the home.

So, all parties agree that after the report was unfounded, as it obviously was when the supposedly murdered person was ushered out of the house with her hands up, they still insisted on a search.
