I know a lot of men aren't into shipping like women are, but I feel like this goes back into what I said before. I feel like a lot of straight women who are into straight shipping have been scared off by the "queer" types and that's why 9/10 ships in fandoms are some flavor of LGBTQ when realistically it should be the other way around. Again, I wouldn't mind shipping much if modern fandoms weren't so hostile with "cis heteronormativity". Take South Park for example, the show literally has around 8 canon gay characters on it and yet despite this, these yaoi fan girls are more concerned with convincing people that the straight characters (or ones who have never shown interest in the same sex) aren't straight like Kenny or Stan.
