At first I was like wtf does he mean "managed to get a hold of" because AO3 lets you download the PDF, but apparently the cunts deleted the fic when they started putting out the fanimation. That might indicate they plan to monetize it in some way, which is actually illegal, as I can't imagine why else they would delete the fic. Anyway you can't delete anything from the internet so here is the AO3 archive.

Summary:

After an attack led by Roman Torchwick and the White Fang interrupts Weiss and Ruby's date, Weiss is left with scars that will impact her for the rest of her life. Team RWBY tries to help their traumatised teammate recover, but things turn out to be a lot more difficult than they first assumed.

Meanwhile, Ruby tries to fix the broken bond between her and her partner before it's too late.

I can already tell it will be retarded due to the tagging style. Anyone mentioning ship names but specifying they're platonic is a moron, that's what the ampersand is for, and putting the ships as tags is redundant as they're already tagged under the relationship category. And no one above age 12 would separate out a "kissing" tag because in any romance focused fic that's more of a given than an exception. Fucking teenagers.

I enjoyed the animation but it's painful that they chose such dogshit to adapt instead of anything that might be worth the effort and time. Plus whiterose shippers are all fatties, trannies, and pooners. What we can expect from this is mush, overused therapy speak, ridiculous tumblr dialogue, and a teenager's idea of angst. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

I don't think so - I remember in Volume 1 her talking about being born into it, this whole flashback showing kid Blake being involved in the violence and all, that tells me the "rich girl on a tropical island" shit was added later.

I’d say that Blake was lying to hide her background as Adam’s second in command, but that would imply said connection being addressed in a meaningful way instead of just haphazardly resolved shortly after the plot point was introduced.


@Starburst Mana When I first looked for the fic, it was said that it was taken down to be rewritten. I also think that the deletion was because the animation is either meant to replace the fic, or the creator doesn’t want everything spoiled before it’s animated.

As for White Rose shippers, they’re usually the same folks who ship Bumblbee, so there’s that. And I’m just sitting here realizing that this is just a classic “straight man and the fool” comedy duo.

From what I understand the author is in the middle of a rewrite and the animation is based on the rewrite. So the author doesn't want people reading the original who haven't already because she doesn't want you reading ahead and spoiling it for others and doesn't want people getting turned off by the fanfic rather than watching the animation.

He's the goon who leads part of the fight in Blake's house so they can set up a joke where he's easily taken out by Blake's mom with a serving tray. And I think we see mermaid-esc faunus in some of the environment shots for Menagerie.

Yeah, animation looks nice, but I don't think I'm gonna be interested in the story for this.

Again, not an absolute knockout, but I remember her looking like somebody you made friends with in school and you’d keep in touch with them after they graduate, even if it’s to say “happy birthday” or congratulate themselves on a major milestone in their life, like getting married or having a kid. We probably all know somebody like that.

Nowadays…good grief, man. Considering all the talk of VAs, I have to think it’s a good thing no RWBY projects are on the horizon because that means I don’t have to worry about Lindsay doing some kind of self-insert games.
