I'm talking about the national debt not personal debt. Everyone knows you need a credit card or some other line of credit to survive in the US. The US economy of the early mid and late 2000's pretty much ran on people with credit spending money they didn't have on things they couldn't afford and didn't need. That and the spending from government social programs is what kept the economy afloat for about a decade. The US economy has been in steady decline for nearly 40 years.

You know what's going to happen with the national debt? The same thing that happens with the personal debt. The US is going to have to file bankruptcy and turn the debt clock back to all zeros and start over. The national debt is never going to be paid off. Just like most personal debt is never paid off. Most of the national debt is held by the US. Like I said we printed the money up. Who do we owe the money to Visa Discover even worse Capital One? How do you owe yourself money and how do you pay yourself back? How do you borrow money from yourself?

The national debt is just an excuse the Boomers use to do shit like cut Medicaid off.

That’s simply bonds held, not even necessarily held by another country directly, but simply hedge funds or even individuals living in that country. The biggest foreign entity that holds the debt is the Bank of Japan. You know, the country we’ve all but castrated and that hosts our military bases.

Besides, that money was never Japanese. The US borrows from the Fed, issuing IOUs (also known as bonds) to the Fed in return for mostly freshly printed money, which the Fed then sells to anyone legally allowed to hold them.

NEVER has the United States directly borrowed from China in any way.

You know what currency the debt is issued in? Dollars. Which again gives the United States a blow-everyone-up button if anyone wants to actually economically threaten the United States via inflation.

Although you can argue that the debt doesn't matter because it's owned by us, you have to admit that it must matter somewhat, or we wouldn't all be taxed so heavily all the time. Why even take taxes at all, if you can just print money you don't have to pay back? Every time some new program comes along, it inevitably ends up taking a huge chunk out of all of our paychecks. This pattern will likely continue if spending is not scaled back.

That's what happens when you throw a lot of money at a problem but don't have time to be personally involved. Oprah probably went to this school rarely and had very little involvement. She probably hired someone who hired someone who was local to run it, who ended up hiring the rapists. When you're a billionaire running multiple companies and charitable ventures you're not exactly personally vetting every schoolteacher half the globe away.
