Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Okay. I'm sure who PC game are aware of that trade-off. And that's not even correct anymore, since now, you'd need an online account to access the most out of your Xbox/PS/Switch. Back then, all you'd need to do is plug and play your console of choice and boom.
What I mean is you could have all sorts off issues with your PC that a console peasant would never face. Let me know when a console peasant has to run through a bunch of steps in order to get a game to stop crashing.

For that example, in most cases, you'd have to rely on a developer would release a patch for your platform and hope that the patch resolved the issue. For PC, if the developer abandoned a game, somebody may have created a unofficial patch or workaround themselves to fix the issue. Example: SilentPatch for 3D GTAs is a fan-made patch that maximizes optimization for modern hardware/software such as capped frame rates to avoid physics bugs, widescreen support or controller compatibility.

You know how in some open worlds, GTA for instance, have some areas that aren't explored or accessed during the story? I like those. It makes the world feel real.
I always find it really weird when a game doesn't intro an area during the story. Feels like it'd missing context. It's been a while since I've experienced it though.

Ok I will try again. Let me know when a console peasant has to roll back to a previous GPU driver to get a game to stop crashing but also can't play any newer games that rely on the new driver.
How's it a "cope"?
It's cope.

The difference between a PC and a console is the ability to install and run any software you want, not who held the screwdriver that affixed the motherboard to the case.
Nice cope. Keep telling yourself that.
How's it a "cope"?
>says that a pc and a console are different because you can run software on the pc is cope
>refuses to elaborate further

Technically, the Xbox One Kinect cannot work on the Xbox Series S|X because MS did not add the Kinect driver to the Series S|X's operating system.

Or how about where older software for PS3s had Linux support until Sony removed it from a later firmware update? Actually, this example best answers your question.

There are also some cases where crashing issues/bugs with a game can be fixed with mods, but also exists in the console versions of the said game and cannot get those fixes. The Sims 4's console version is notorious for this, due to the many bugs and annoying game behavior that needs mods to attempt to fix those issues. And the console version of the game also has most of those same bugs that the PC version has.

Back to the topic, with the announcement of Xiaomi adding their cars to Gran Turismo 7, while there has been negative reception to it due to it being Chinese cars, and people have joked about if the GT7 version of it will have weak brakes that the IRL version of the car has, because of the numerous SU7 track crash videos, I don't mind them being added to the game. And I don't remember the Forza community reacting as negatively when Chinese cars (Lynk & Co, MG, NIO, XPeng, and Wuling) were added to their games. Does the autism with the GT community and their obsession with Japanese cars also is the reason why some people didn't take the Xiaomi announcement well?

Let me know when you can actually play your PS1, PS2, PS3 games on PS4/PS5 without having to re-buy them digitally or rely on a cloud platform.

Edit: I also want to say that in the 15 years I've been playing games on PC, I've *never* had to roll back a GPU driver to get a game to stop crashing.

people throwing temper tantrums online whenever a company makes a decision that's disliked has gotten to a point where i find it annoying and exhausting, while some of it is valid its just gotten to a point where any new game is pre-empitevly shit on, I feel like a lot of people in the 12-21 age range were never told no and this is the result of it

That's still not the same as having to uninstall and reinstall a driver,

I do that all the time with emulators. Duckstation PCSX2 and RPCS3 say hello. Heard of them? I actually own a PS3 though. The first two play games pretty well. RPCS3 is still getting worked on.

Then you haven't played GTA 5 lately. Both the enhanced and legacy version of the game crashes with the newest Nvidia drivers from mid May (Doom TDA game ready drivers).

Even older than that. Throughout the 10s, we were told "every opinion is valid (Unless it's conservative)" and you could find anyone online who agreed with you, which made it easier to believe you were right all the time. Unfortunately it means you have a bunch of morons who cannot handle admitting that their opinions and actions might be absurd or over the top.

You're playing these emulators on PS5? Cause I'm trying to point out that playing old shit on consoles is just as, if not more, annoying and time consuming than dealing with playing old shit on PC.

I've *just* gotten back into GTA V through Enhanced and I haven't had a crash in the two weeks I've been playing it. Every issue has been with online connections and it's always hang ups not crashes.

The way I 'acquire' games is I always pirate.

If it manages to sustain my attention for more than a few sessions, I might pay for it. But it's more of a "I support this" gesture and it doesn't feel similar to actually purchasing something in the real world. If it's "AAA" (big name publisher) then I just don't pay by default, my money makes no difference. Otherwise I might 'support' the dev with the purchase as in "you did a good job, here's 25 bucks" which feels akin to a donation (paying for a free service after the fact).

I feel this is the right way to do it. You have no expectations by default so you don't even get disappointed when the story takes a nosedive 15 hours in or if there's a cash shop in an otherwise good game. You didn't pay for it, you move on, try the next thing. If it's some multiplayer always-online crap with Denuvo I won't be bothering with it because: 1) I have work and a life so no time for multiplayer fagfests 2) Too many games to play in the time that I have for them to waste time on slop that has been shittified to prevent piracy.

Never even bought a console because those (afaik) make piracy difficult (and I have no interest in owning a machine that'll go obsolete in a few years, a slow hardware subscription). I have a great emulation set-up across my devices: All ROMs/images on a NAS, PC emulates pretty much everything and my phone does it for most games up to the Switch (and even a few PC titles I have on it like DS3 but the emulation set up is much more involved). I have a huge library of old games to burn through and at current rate it will take me multiple liftetimes to fully enjoy all the games I want to play.

Probably not a truly unpopular opinion considering how prevalent piracy is (esp. in the 3rd world) but seeing how in mainstream online gamer spaces online it's usually considered "stealing" (muh think of the game devs) outside of an autistically vocal group that justify it with moralfaggotry (no you're not owning the faceless capitalist machine by pirating an Activision game, you're still just a cheap fuck like me).

Unpopular opinion time. Base on the lasting damage she did to my beloved hobby, Anita didn't receive anywhere near the level of hatred she truly deserved.
Counter. People who hate Anita are retarded. She was great, and played the game very well. Zoe tried but was too self involved, whilst Anita is just a bandit who made out like a champion because she understood the game to play.

I don't think a lot of the main people on both sides really give a shit about anything they say, they just saw an opportunity to grab some cash and did as best as they could.
