All this talk of old school diseases made me think of the Bills of Mortality they used to keep in London. They have some great causes of death listed.

A note on EDS folks - I have only ever met one person who I genuinely believe had some form of EDS. It was a kid in my primary school who, bless him, already had it tough as he was the son of a real bitch of a teacher. Anyway, he used to do this with his hands all the time:

This was the best picture I could find, but in my memory his were even bendier. He was like a young Mr Fantastic / Human Pretzel.
That brought up an odd memory, I used to do that as a kid along with many others in my school. This was the shit you did bored at your desk. You’d do it, show the kid next to you and they’d try to do it better.
I think it just demonstrates the flexibility of young joints, because I could still do it up until HS then realized I had better things to do than braid my fingers for no reason.
I do not have EDS. I think most kids under 15 could do this, at least half my classmates could.
Yup. I think it’s just being bendy and flexible as fuck as a kid…and boredomI knew a lot of kids who could do that growing up, me included. Now i feel weird.
