Modern Web Woes - I'm mad at the internet

New observation: Firefox will write megabytes to the drive if GMail is accessed in a normal browsing window, but not in a private window. Maybe there's media files in there?

(At least if browser.browsing.forceMediaMemoryCache is set to true, which also disables any vids played in private window from being cached on drive when in private window.)

I posted earlier that I'm down the rabbithole of browsing through apparently hijacked Facebook accounts.

Came across another weird one. Originally (I found the account because of what it switched to) It was of this dumpy girl. Who for some reason liked to show her armpit hair alot? I guess there must be some sort fetish for that?

Then all of a sudden out of nowhere one day it switches apparently to the account of a drop dead gorgeous blonde. bombshell body, face, tits the whole package, each pretty impressive even by internet standards. She's hot enough almost to be ai generated but I don't think ai has quite made it that far yet.

No mention of the change at all. It just switches this one random day and continues on as if nothing had happened. Doesn't bother to get rid of old photos and videos of the original girl.

Like...wtf is the point of this? If you're going to start a coomer account why not just make a new one? Why base it off a preexisting account of some girl from an entirely different fetish, and not even bother to clean up?

They're farming accounts for sale. You post the coomer stuff to get a lot of followers on it, and then rent the account to some politisperg or astroturfer who wants an audience. Once the contract's up, clear out the account and go back to posting cat pictures or coomer bait or whatever to get more followers in.

Google developers are genuinely retarded. Apparently you can still install the old V2 extensions straight from the store, they just changed the interface not to let you, with a simple "disabled" attribute. Of course, they could remotely remove them or drop support for the APIs at any point, and why would you use chrome in the first place? (source) (bookmarklet)

I switched gas stations because the one I would always use on my way home from work literally took away your ability to mute. I did stop by recently and noticed someone had squirted white silicone into the speaker holes on one of the pumps lol.

I noticed that a LOT of pumps have stopped having the ability to mute as well. It's enough to make you a bit pissed off when you consider how much money has to be flowing through those pumps, truly vampiric and trying to milk you for every drop. I've noticed some stores have advertisements in check out aisles as well.

It's proper tranny shit too unfortunately with an anime girl mascot and "Enbyware" or whatever the hell in the tags. It's a shame because CloudFlare indeed has a monopoly on things as far as DDoS mitigation is concerned. Trannyshit "enbyware" or corporate hegemon spyware?

It really isn't any good. It doesn't actually do anything against bots and you can easily bypass it. Try loading up an Anubis-protected page without the "Mozilla/5.0" part in your user agent, and you will find you get no Anubis (linux nerds, just try a curl). It only activates on web browsers, and while a lot of scrapers will pretend to be web browsers, they are known to try to circumvent anti-scraper and AI blocks, and Anubis makes that easy.

It's truly just trannyware in every way.

Those retards at Google keep breaking cookie banners with Firefox-based browsers, and you get asked for consent every page load, it seems to have begun a few days ago in conjunction with other pointless changes including to YouTube's interface. Doesn't seem like uBO's annoyances lists are catching them fast enough. What a great way to push that sub-10% browser share even lower as soon as the people you've installed it for have no idea what's happening (or what the tracking protection is or does) and go back to Chrome or whatever.

Mozilla is even worse in this regard. At this point Firefox only exists to serve as controlled opposition as Google pools their funding into Mozilla.
